This is genuinely insane, I clicked to see the years expecting the low part to be 70s or maybe 90s but its 2015!!!!! The entire anti trans panic is a decade old
a stat i always cite is the number of anti-trans articles in the press went from 60 in a year, to 7,500

Notable how little UK Govt, and specifically the health secretary, have to say about this. No sense that they can shape public behaviour. Very passive.
UK has lost its official status as a country that has achieved elimination of measles, as vaccination rates have fallen below the 95% required to achieve herd immunity. So sad, and likely due vaccine misinformation. If you haven't already, get your kids vaccinated ASAP. www.bbc.com/news/article...
UK loses measles elimination status
Decision made after outbreaks in 2024, when there were nearly 3,000 cases in England and Wales.

The number of people who think this is "sensible" politics and don't understand why it's a massive uncrossable red line for millions of Labour's supposed core constituency continues to blow my mind. All the minor percentage shifts in NHS waiting lists will never make up for this nativist cruelty.
Under Starmer, recognised refugees can no longer reunite with their children.

Recognised refugees.

Denied the right to reunite with their children.

It’s diabolical. Worse than anything the Tories did. & no, the racists are not & never will be satisfied.

So yes, he’s hated.
What these “but why do people hate Starmer SO MUCH” takes come down to is so shallow.

Starmer doesn’t sound or look like a firebrand so what’s the big deal?

Immune to questions of SUBSTANCE - he’s liar, enabled a genocide, pandered to anti-migrant politics & global Fascism.

Coming to the view that perhaps we do need age limits on social media, say banning its use for men over the age of 65?

I feel like if a PM is saying that their legacy is winning an election, they should have had the dignity to have died tragically a month after the polls

if you’re prime minister, it is kind of astonishing to say your legacy will be winning the election. that’s the job interview mate

Same reason everyone should be VEHEMENTLY opposed to mandatory Age Verification tech and Age Gates

They don't care about children.

They care about getting documented records of every person looking at every website they want to ban.
When a sitting representative refers to the Super Bowl halftime show as “pornography,” people should use that to reflect on how they and other representatives are simultaneously working to ban, censor, and restrict “pornography” and what that actually means

As I've said before, increased French dogmatism is also deepening EU divides, and potentially paving the way for a far-right government from next year to make things even worse. This never seems to occur to Macron, for whom unity seems to mean following him.

Getting really tired of "this is all a media concoction"...

Starmer has the lowest approval rating of any PM in history bar Truss. Senior ministers are openly and unsubtly positioning. His Chief of Staff, Director of Comms and Cab Sec have all resigned on the same day.

I mean come on...

Problem with any anti-Starmer tweet that gets attention is I inevitably have to hear the thoughts of people who think Starmer is Blair 2.0, when a lot of the Starmer project's reactionary tendencies are an attempt to distance itself from the socially liberal aspects of Blairism
Starmer "led Labour to a thumping victory nobody thought possible" is one of those weird revisions of history, when 400+ seats was obviously in the realm of possibility from the moment the first post-minibudget polls dropped in September/October 2022

A fascinating "why format matters" example here. Making this the text of your post would be standard government minister boilerplate.

Posting it as a screenshot in the official font makes it look like you've been asked to carry the portrait of Lenin at the May Day Parade.

“I advised the prime minister to make that appointment and I take full responsibiiity for that advice”

The inevitably question for Number 10 now is why the advice is a resigning matter but the actual decision isn’t.

That’s a hard question to answer.

You know the people who ask "how do you get a foot in the door with comedy writing?", and then zone out when your answer involves lots of hard work and rejection cause they really just wanted you to say "all you have to do is email this producer and you're good to go!"
