This article is making the rounds for good reason, and the disdain for anti-vaxxers and raw milk enthusiasts is warranted, but I want to go deeper.

Why are these women so vulnerable to disinformation? I'd argue it's at least partially because American motherhood is hard and profoundly lonely.
Some young women are celebrating the nomination of Kennedy, a medical skeptic, to the nation’s top health position, saying he takes their concerns about nutrition and medicine seriously.

Amidst war, blackouts, and ongoing shelling of civilian targets by the aggressor state, Ukrainian citizens and anti-corruption bodies have not given up on their commitment to a fully functioning democracy. They are an inspiration.
Kicking corrupt officials out is good, actually. Sure, not as good as not hiring corrupt officials to begin with. And not as good as not allowing them to become corrupt while in office. Still, kicking them out is orders of magnitude better than what most of us live with

The “deal” deprives Ukraine of everything it has won by withstanding Russian aggression and defending the borders of Europe.

It rewards Russian lawlessness—and makes America complicit in the lawlessness.

It’s the end of post WWII American power.

yeah man, trans reporters, whom the ny times derogatorily calls "trans activists" so that normies won't listen to them, have been reporting on ADF activity in the UK since 2018.

bigotry in journalism makes you late to the story.
Really important NYT investigation finds that the ADF has been working with Reform, 'courting the party since at least 2024' and that the British arm 'orchestrated Mr Farage’s appearance in Congress, reaching out to ask if he would like to give evidence on censorship'

Good morning Democratic Electeds. Maybe you missed the absolute onslaught of government-facilitated hatred against trans folks that gained momentum over the weekend, but ask one of your more online staffers to catch you up.

Your constituents are begging you to stand up.
Attention Democratic Elected Officials. More of this, please. It's not only in keeping with our collective values, but it's also electorally favorable.

In case you were wondering why the incorrect rumor of “trans activist” and “fascist symbols” on ammo started, it’s because arrows and initials are common ways manufacturers stamp ammo.

Tremendous reporting here from a team of @npr.org journalists on the many fights within the USG over US Gaza policy, and the many missed opportunities to abide by our own laws, norms, and stated values.
NPR - There were strong, sometimes bitter arguments within the Biden administration on how far the US was willing to go to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to allow more aid into Gaza.

This is a great observation that I've been thinking about all morning. I'd like to add one other factor the equation, and it's not *not* related to the AIDS epidemic.

Many of us in Gen X were raised by folks getting their parenting advice, from cradle to adolescence, from James Dobson (may he burn)
people often ask what’s wrong with gen x, and, like, there are a lot of answers, but i think the AIDS epidemic and the specific people it wiped out is probably an under discussed contributor to the bomber with red dots diagram

It is almost impossible to explain to folks raised outside fundamentalist circles how destructive and pervasive this one guy was. His "impact" informed every stage of childhood for a sub-section of American kids, from toddler discipline to how our parents discussed adolescence. All of it was bad.
