The best child acting ensemble I’ve ever seen.
Niche post for critics and movie-awards-season nerds: Don't sleep on The Plague, a superb, excruciatingly tense American debut film--not horror, but in its way terrifying--about being a 12- or 13-year-old boy among other 12- or 13-year-old boys. Opens next month; it's haunted me since I saw it.

Goddamn.
Going to end on one of the most beautiful commercials ever made with the reminder and a call to remember the small things. They make a big difference to others.

Love all, help all.

Go Jackets.

It’s like their lead is Bill Clinton and South Carolina is Donald Trump
I am trying to talk South Carolina not blowing this into existence, but gotta say it's getting very hard lol

This somebody is obviously Trump and let me just say: I trust the pedophile’s insight on who is and is not a pedophile.

Larry Summers defending Donald Trump to the world's most infamous pedophile and the world's most infamous pedophile pushing back to say no, Larry, Trump is the worst person I know.
Still working our way through approx. 23,000 pages of Epstein related documents released by House Oversight Cmte.

In another email.. this one from Feb. 2017.. Epstein references Trump

Because he helped get them laid
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

I know it looks bad but just wait until the exonerating documents come out.
"Subject: Trump"

"Importance: High"

"The allegation was not at a pedophile party. It was at my house with me."

This isn’t what the word “allege’ means. The email doesn’t allege.

Yesterday, when Bovino announced ICE would be returning to Little Village today, some of us donated and fundraised to buy out street vendors in the neighborhood. This morning, volunteers hit the streets at 6:30 am, looking for vendors to buy out. Tamales make an excellent breakfast.

This is the ripple effect of the annoying pedantry that’s taken hold within pop culture over the last decade or so. Dumb as hell.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Went from, on Tuesday, feeling better about the world than I had since last November to, today, feeling worse about the world than I have since last November.

Among other issues, this just sows distrust in elected representatives. Upwards of 16 Dem senators are casting a vote that’s against how they want to vote. How can you expect people to trust you when you do that? How can you ask for their support?
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

A vote that won’t result in ACA subsidies but will result in vulnerable GOP senators being able to vote yes — a gift to Republicans.

The politics of this are horrendous.
Politico says the cavers have won. CR in exchange for fake vote on ACA subsidies in December. Politico at least says other Dems will give them cover. We’ll see. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

SCHUMER is on the floor now making this offer to end the shutdown:

Clean CR
Bipartisan "minibus" of approps bills
1-year ACA funding extension
Bipartisan cmte to negotiate on health care

"This is a reasonable offer that reopens the government, deals with health care affordability."

Any Democrat voting for this should be primaried as quickly as possible because they're stupid, aren't capable of recognizing they're winning, are incapable of representing their constituents, and are cowards not up to this era's challenges.
Senate Democrats asked for a year of ACA subsidies and were told to fuck off.

So they came back and asked for a pinky promise to hold a vote on ACA subsidies that they will assuredly lose?

Seriously?
From what I have seen so far this does not seem like a good deal:

There is nothing Republicans can offer that should compel Democrats to end the shutdown. Make them end the filibuster.
News: Democrats are inclined to keep their shutdown fight going, according to multiple people familiar. Republicans are weighing a funding vote tomorrow but Democrats are leaning toward blocking it at this point without more reassurances on ACA/federal workers

This is how it looked on the ballot.

Had Mamdani lost, the framing would've been how Cuomo's run to the center/right should be a model for Dems nationwide.

But since Mamdani won, the framing is that his victory should only be understood in context of highly specific local election with little to no carryover for Dems nationwide.
ah well, it was fun while it lasted
