The new SARS-CoV-2 "FLiRT" lineage LB.1 (descended from JN.1.9.2) has acquired the Spike S31del mutation so becoming a "DeFLiRT".

At present this seems the most likely successor to the currently-dominant "FLiRT" KP.2 and "FLuQE" KP.3.

UPDATE: COVID wastewater levels are low in most US states.

If you've been holding off on healthcare or other activities, now is one of the best times of the year to go.

Note that even in low periods you are still at risk of COVID exposure, so it makes sense to take precautions.

In the 4 years since the SARS-CoV-2 virus was unleashed on the world, data have steadily accumulated supporting the hypothesis that it emerged from a laboratory. The latest information, released last month, makes a formidable case that the virus is the product of laboratory synthesis, not of nature.
Opinion | Where Did Covid Come From?
New documents bolster the theory that it not only escaped from a laboratory but was developed in one.

You have to have your kidney function tested in a lab to be diagnosed with kidney disease. You have to have a reason for that & most people don’t because of how late symptoms show. So a lot of people don’t know they are in a stage of kidney disease.
All these people who are cool collecting multiple COVID infections could easily have kidneys as bad as mine because COVID targets kidneys & kidney disease is known as a silent killer because since we have two they can decline a far ways before symptoms show & it’s too late.
