Couple of days ago I had my 2yr anniv of my bell ceremony at the end of my radiation treatments for prostate cancer. I'm still clean (praise the Lord), but I wanted to urge guys to get checked. Most guys don't like the "finger up the butt" check, but that check SAVED MY LIFE. It can save yours.

Bloody right it was. An outstanding bit of writing, production, direction and acting. Shows all that can be done when everything comes together.

I think the real question here is, beyond the crew who actually are involved in the making of these movies, Would Anyone Actually Care?
Don't get me wrong, Avatar movies are a big deal for the 3 months they are in theaters, but once they are gone, they vanish from the public consciousness entirely.
What about Avatar 4 and 5?

James Cameron: “I have no doubt in my mind that [Avatar: Fire and Ash] will make money. The question is, does it make enough money to justify doing it again?”

There will be “one open thread” that is unresolved if Fire and Ash is the last film in the franchise.

James Cameron hints that Avatar 3, also known as Avatar: Fire and Ash, could wind up being the last movie in the series.

Honestly, seeing some of the driving around here (particularly when it rain) I think this headline - while intended to be a joke - is actually pretty spot on.

I was a kid who was into copying games on a C64, and got into actual assembler programming to facilitate that, and then started into actual game to see if I could do it.
Now, I don't have any skills to do anything else.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

Oh for gods sake. That new Stargate announcement made me go rewatch the start of SG1 and now I’m going to have to rewatch all of it, aren’t I?
This is your fault @bradwright.bsky.social. I blame you:)

My family at dinner discussing what’s cool and what’s not in a person. I protest mildly that ‘I was cool once’ and my wife turns to me and, totally straight, goes ‘when was that?’ Like, she genuinely wanted to know when that was.
So apparently I never was. Good to know.

At least with crypto, NFTs, and the metaverse I could block and ignore my way out and simply not engage with it, but with AI it's being forcibly crammed into tools I have to use and actively makes them harder to use and worse at what they do. Sloppy, unprofessional failure to sell new features.

You ever feel like you are part of a dying breed? Went to see the latest Now You See Me flick and I’m literally alone in the theater.

What happened to going to the movies? Netflix and Covid are just doing the whole event in.

Our ACA premiums are now going up by an extra $1k a month in 2026. Thanks a bunch of the 8 douche bag democratic senators who caved on the reopening bill. You cost me $12k extra a year.
And fuck you Republicans for doing this in the first place.

It constantly amazes me that I am so sympatico in the way I see the world as someone like Tom, who’s basically my IQ x 2.
But yeah. He’s absolutely spot on here.
Absolutely mind-buggering how many people are happy going on the public record with their opinion that that grown-ass adults doing whatever they want with their own bodies is an Abomination Unto Nuggan, but sex-trafficking teenage girls is a bit naughty, and they should have kept quieter about it.

You don't need me to tell you this is yet more good money being burned after bad. But as someone who's worked with that QA team, I'll say they're unsung heroes who truly play a huge role in maintaining SE's reputation for high quality locs and to attempt to replace them with AI is deeply insulting.
Square Enix wants 70% of its QA work to be handled by generative AI by the end of 2027, in partnership with the University of Tokyo's Matsuo-Iwasawa Laboratory. https://bit.ly/4qKdyQR

Been watching Death in Paradise. Lovely environments, wonderful diverse cast even if there is a whiff of White Savior in it. It’s amusing watching all the current British jobbing actors putting on bloody awful Caribbean accents!
The fact they killed the show lead after the 2nd season was a shock!
