It's genuinely impressive how this title manages to straddle the exact line between "middling NES action game you would've found at K-Mart in 1988" and "irredeemable NES bootleg you would've found at your local adult bookstore next to Bubble Bath Babes."
When a game publisher asks me to translate a trailer or a store page as part of a localization, sometimes it's hard not to wonder if my work stacks up at all against a pro. Then I, too, remember that a professional decided to use "hobby-grade" to describe a MOBA shooter and I realize I'm doing fine.
You ever get a nostalgic hankering for some FPS hobby-grade coop campaign; genre blended, multi-mode competitive e-sports; meta-growth, choice + epic BATTLEBORN heroes?
This is a hole that the game's industry really needs to fill. Sorely lacking!

When a game publisher asks me to translate a trailer or a store page as part of a localization, sometimes it's hard not to wonder if my work stacks up at all against a pro. Then I, too, remember that a professional decided to use "hobby-grade" to describe a MOBA shooter and I realize I'm doing fine.
Beginning to realize my posts in the last 24 hours have potentially made Full Metal Schoolgirl a more respectable game than Metacritic has perhaps led you to believe and I'm reminded that my tastemaking powers, such as they exist, are terrifying and to be feared, most of all by yours truly.

Sometimes I wonder if other Americans think of Nakau as the Waffle House of Japan, or if it's just me because of one time I ate there at 4 AM while a couple were quietly fighting and the dude got so pissed, he shoved the automatic door open hard enough that it just stayed open the rest of the time.

Since you asked so nicely, here's TWO videos of what I consider more technical fighting in Full Metal Schoolgirl! This first one is a regular enemy encounter that, while imperfect, showcases me using kiting to bait the enemies to kill each other, plus weapon switching at times to deal damage faster.

You need to have a bit of thick skin for fanservice, but like I've been saying for the last week-ish, this game will meet you where you want to be in terms of combat depth. If you wanna zone out, it'll let you. If you wanna get technical, it has plenty to dissect and will reward you accordingly.
Ps2 game likers should be aware that full metal schoolgirl is out now. It's a hack and shoot where two highschool gals fight against an evil corporation producing the "working dead." brainless as heck and feels good to hit buttons.

Suddenly thinking back on the game where an agency different than the one I was localizing it with came to me by sheer luck with a request to translate marketing assets and as reference, gave me an entire PDF full of character profiles the client just never deigned to give us for the game proper.

This isn't an official hashtag random game Saturday post since, like, that's all of my posts, but sometimes it's good to remind yourself the Japanese PS2 library is so beautifully diverse that it has multiple licensed fast food games that not only have good covers, they're just Good Games, period. 😌

This is exactly what's been on my mind when people say AI has prevented a US recession. If perceived economic strength is predicated upon ONE industry's round-tripping, it seems more logical to exclude that industry to find the actual ground truth and that truth is grim. It's means vs. averages.

The most basic argument I can give you for ditching Spotify for *anything* is Spotify, uniquely, pays *nothing* for much of the music on the platform. Is there *any* improvement in paying for Spotify over pirating? You're a paper-thin moral slice away from buying music from a bootlegger. Why do it?
