7-11 curry bread update: the drought is over. I *finally* found some again while out and about well beyond my neighborhood last night and... I may have bought four of them across a couple of stores to savor over the next couple of days. Still as perfect as ever; it's like we were never apart. 😭

Most relevant(?) to what I typically cover, there's also Moe Moe Daisenryaku, a dormant sister series that's exactly what you think. Some of these command a decent premium nowadays and I just know in my gut I'm gonna have to try one of these to see if girls can give me the ojiisan strategy bug... 😩

In these uncertain times, there's a certain indescribable comfort in seeing that, against all odds, there are 60 year old ojiisans who haven't fallen prey to World of Tanks and still play Daisenryaku to this day because apparently they still make them and they even put 'em in a PS5 box if you like.

My god, I finally found the mythical Japanese 7-11 fresh(-ish) chocolate chip cookies after a year of looking for them. 🥹
It's nothing super fancy, but surprisingly big for 180 yen a pop and they heat it up again in-store. Pretty good! Easy recommendation if you can find a branch selling them. 😌

Mmhm. You can manually trim down a decent amount of that lag by disabling automatic synchronization in the document tab up top. You'll then have to remember to sync your work yourself, but then it only has to ping the server when you do concordance searches and stuff, which is a fair tradeoff, IMO.

And then here's a mid-boss encounter that shows me carefully timing my slow-mo and using it in tandem with my shotgun, melee, and Nier Automata-esque pod attacks to deal massive damage quickly. These sorts of fights really reward clever cooldown management to make the most of boss weaknesses. 😎

This isn't an official hashtag random game Saturday post since, like, that's all of my posts, but sometimes it's good to remind yourself the Japanese PS2 library is so beautifully diverse that it has multiple licensed fast food games that not only have good covers, they're just Good Games, period. 😌

This is exactly what's been on my mind when people say AI has prevented a US recession. If perceived economic strength is predicated upon ONE industry's round-tripping, it seems more logical to exclude that industry to find the actual ground truth and that truth is grim. It's means vs. averages.

I would describe Black Thunder as quietly popular; it's ubiquitous if you know where to look, but only once you discover it for yourself. They also regularly do collaborations with various stores and brands, including a Lawson frappe and donuts at Mister Donut recently, which were all delightful. 😌

A handful of you have asked what Black Thunders are, which is understandable. They're basically a line of small, crunchy chocolate bars that come in a bunch of flavors and are all very reasonably priced, usually between 33 to 50 yen. Grab em from a Daiso or convenience store in Japan! I love em!
