One of my favourite pictures. It was complete serendipity. I was taking a picture of this field of glass poppies installation at the Tower of London many years ago, when one of the Tower's Beefeaters walked by, stopped, and adjusted one. It was such a simple, touching gesture that spoke volumes.

At 10:57 a.m. on Nov. 11, 1918, George Lawrence Price stepped out into a village street in Belgium.
As he did, a German sniper shot him in the chest.
He died one minute later and became the last Canadian soldier to die in the First World War.
This is his story.

Obviously, I don't know the man. And it's probably a bad idea to psychoanalyze strangers from a distance. But since Melon Musk is such an ubiquitous and powerful presence in all our lives, I think it might be justified in this instance.

Russian state media are today alleging that a Bellingcat reporter was involved in an attempt to hijack a Russian fighter plane.

We would like to make clear that Bellingcat had absolutely no involvement in the alleged activities and the accusations towards us are entirely false.

Communities commemorate veterans and our fallen in ways as simple as paint on the roadway in Ottawa or as elaborate as personalized banners on light posts in towns like Perth.
It is heartening to see more municipalities help all of us to #RememberThem.

Gut #microbiome tests are everywhere. Should you get one? medicalxpress.com/news/2025-11... #GutHealth

- Little evidence to support use
- Often associated with sale of unproven supplements
- And even if worked, probably wouldn't change approach (healthy diet, exercise, sleep)!
Gut microbiome tests are everywhere. Should you get one?
At-home gut microbiome tests are trending, selling insights to the curious, empowerment to the chronically ill and a claimed path to longevity to the wellness-conscious.

One thing I'm wondering.

We got our covid shots last week.

We didn't have to pay at the time.

Are they sending us a bill?

What are they going to do if we all don't pay?

Sigh. I took down my Senate Instagram account a few months ago. A mistake, perhaps, since there is now a fake Insta account pretending to be me - and well meaning but confused folks are tagging it. If you are still on Instagram, could you please do me a favour and report it as a fraud?
