Additional housekeeping notes: I have made a second new list for "Inauthentic false flag/false identity claim reply spammers", because they're also sharply on the rise: I've been reporting them to Bluesky all along but it's time to start listing them.

Onions are basically never good in anything, they are a disgusting food and it is a mark of deep moral and spiritual decay that they feature so prominently in so many recipes.
I think it’s time someone started an argument…

I think this tweet is badly mischaracterizing what Sarah Binder said but the New Republic page keeps crashing on me under the weight of the ads so it’s hard to tell for sure
Alarming: Trump really can send Congress home if Mike Johnson creates the pretext he needs to adjourn lawmakers. Then he can recess-appoint Gaetz or anyone he wants.

On the pod, congressional expert Sarah Binder explains how this would work. You'll learn a ton:

As Trump mulls recess appointments to ram through disastrous personnel choices like Matt Gaetz, an expert in congressional rules explains how this really could happen—and why it’s so dangerous.

Ok, I made some updates to Earth/ESD today, based on feedback - Note that I literally haven't even checked this in yet, so it's not on Tribble right now. It will be there in some future build . . . 1/?

the thing about like 300 straight days of protests that the cops couldn't shut down in portland is that this was not a resounding triumph of the police over the people.

The truth is, none of us really know what the next four years will look like. It’s incredibly difficult to predict what happens next. It does not feel good.

This isn't a culture war. This is the only trans congresswoman, ever being bullied through the press and legislation, and having only 1 of hundreds of colleagues stand up for her. They can do more than 1 thing at a time. Defending her will not take so much effort that they can't do their jobs.
Defending Sarah McBride is absolutely the right thing to do, and yet there’s also the risk of being baited into yet another culture war cycle that distracts from the Republican grift. Her statement suggests she wants to move forward, and I think it’s wise to take the cue from her.

The real trap here is that the Republicans have made defending civil rights seem like a frivolous thing and a whole lot of liberals are falling in line. Even if it was a culture war, so what? This would be a war worth fighting. What are we even doing here, people? Get it together.
