Canadians! There is a petition to sign to protest Mastercard and Visa's control over the purchase of legal adult content. This is specifically about the Steam & itchio situation, but language protects adult creators.

Once again, there is an ACLU petition specifically made to stop Mastercard from unlawfully policing adult content. It’s getting pretty grim for us out there. Please sign and/or spread the word.

If you don't like something you read, it's not personal. It's just not for you.
And, as authors, our job isn't to make ourselves palatable for everyone. It's to make our stories essential for the reader who needs it more than anyone else.

this is an old thread but some folks are still finding it and in light of the stuff with the Trevor Project and the supreme court ruling maybe it's worth reposting just in case anybody is looking for some concrete stuff that's definitely helped me hang in there during really hard moments
okay, so. i have bipolar disorder. we have a suicide rate of about 1/5. i've basically spent my entire teenage and adult life trying not to kill myself. so with that in mind, here are my tips on how to hang in there: 1) don't isolate. i know all the excuses. but don't do it

Just called Gillibrand and Schumer to demand they not only vote against the murderous Republican budget bill, but that they deny unanimous consent at every opportunity and do everything else they can to gum up the works. This is intolerable.
