How is this a rude shock? It’s an unambiguously good news story for Australia, one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change.

Rude shock for Australia as South Korea unshackles from coal reliance
In a move that has been welcomed by climate campaigners, South Korea has vowed to phase out coal, sparking a warning for Australian exporters.

The trick is to make people believe fossil fuels are cheaper or better for the economy. Which they aren’t.
Something weird about these early 40s white men insisting we ditch net zero and fuck the consequences.

The pig-headed, nihilistic disregard almost made sense for Abbott (67), Joyce (58), Morrison (57).

But Hastie/Duniam are 42. Millennials who might've led the Coalition into the 21st century...
#BREAKING 🚨 Andrew Hastie has threatened to quit the opposition frontbench if the Coalition does not end its support for net zero

Speaking to the ABC, Hastie says he would think about quitting – or be sacked by Sussan Ley – because he wants the climate target scrapped

I remember seeing Kelly O'Dwyer debut on that as a new MP and thought her answers to questions were considered and intelligent. By her next appearance she had been Clockwork Orange-conditioned to regurgitate the party line at the mention of key words. She was never interesting again.
I think what was good about Q&A when it started was that you'd get audience questions that were stuff that politicians wouldn't be asked by gallery reporters.

I feel like it became bad when Q&A kept trying to be part of the news cycle and asked the same questions and politicians use talking points

My fav AI yarn I reckon - there was no AI, just 700 odd coders in India who pretended to be bots.
“The tech world is reeling from revelations that Builder.ai, once hailed as a $1.5 billion 'AI' powerhouse, now faces scrutiny as its highly promoted artificial intelligence facade crumbles, revealing a human-powered operation behind the cutting-edge AI automation.“
It was 700 Indians writing code!🤣
Builder.ai Collapses: $1.5bn 'AI' Startup Exposed as 'Actually Indians' Pretending to Be Bots
Builder.ai, once a $1.5 billion 'AI' startup backed by Microsoft and QIA, is filing for bankruptcy. A lender seized $37M, crippling operations.

This frustrating article tells about 40% of the story.

Yes synthetic fuels are promising for the liquid fuels we can’t replace. No we shouldn’t try to replace today’s consumption with synthetic fuels. That would be mad.

Shows how important EVs and modal shift are.

Synthetic fuel to be made in Australia could end up offshore
Formula One is transitioning to sustainable fuels next year. Australia could manufacture them and make billions of dollars -- if it doesn't miss the opportunity.

Ok, there are a lot of false assertions just left to hang in this article. There is no reason to think renewables are a threat to energy security, or more expensive than thermal generation. Astounding baseless unchallenged assertions.
