Love, fairness and photos.
Not only that, you can just promise them again if the scrutiny and regulation reappears, and pretend you are the good guys again.

They keep bringing back the unlikeable characters and asking us to care about them.

The idea that there is a public policy justification for any of that bullshit is absurd lol.
February 11, 2026 at 8:31 AM
Oh no! The ‘public policy reason for predictions markets’ is finally defeated!

To be fair there are a lot of pundits in shock that the coalition could be this hopeless.

Only time the police will defend a guy on a bike is when he is wearing the right uniform.

Wow, today I learned the media think Jewish Australians have a separate head of state. That sounds like some sort of harmful stereotype in the making.

Difficult to see that last line as anything other than a comment aimed at Sussan Ley, who won her seat in 2001 against the Nationals.

Hahaha I love this criticism from the op-ed pages of the WSJ of all places.

It’s super strange from any rational viewpoint, unless maybe they are expecting a major conflict that needs a lot of redundancy.
February 3, 2026 at 9:08 PM
Yeah I totally agree. Wind has its own issues though because it’s become super easy to oppose from far away. If someone told me they didn’t like my solar panels I could easily tell them where to go.
February 3, 2026 at 10:13 AM
Yeah I agree it’s not the only solution, but it’s a simple message that works for about 90% of households. Also everyone who installs solar and battery becomes a vested interest against baseload generation, which in Australia creates a lot of suburban enemies of coal.
February 3, 2026 at 10:11 AM
I’m not going to say it’s the only solution. We need to get rid of fossil fuels immediately as the priority. Solar pushes prices negative here which kind of makes a coal generator pay to produce.
February 3, 2026 at 10:08 AM
I think solar plus battery provides a tangible answer to the question of ‘how do you keep the lights on without coal’ though. Also solar is a gateway to electrification in Australia, meaning declining gas usage and therefore political power of gas producers.
