I love how the orthodox answer to all policy problems in the English-speaking world is “moar capitalism”
Yep

I haven’t seen the NZ one. I should give it a try

I get how some might like this format but I would much prefer to see a cast of relative naïfs deal with the scenarios than someone who has been on Survivor before going on Love Island on their way to competing in the Amazing Race and, then, coming back for heroes v villains in each.

I tried watching s2 of The Traitors but couldn’t do it due to almost all the contestants being professional reality show contestants.

You’re right. It is something to be taken seriously. I’m just highlighting the very small piece of humour I can find in it

“We’ve been asked to send someone to Greenland.”
Looks around, sees the adjutant picking his nose. “How are you with snow, Peeters?”

I find it funny that all the European nations are sending one or a couple of military people to the exercises in Greenland. If nominated, you absolutely know your govt and leadership think you are expendable

But, of course, every comment of his should contain an explanation of his downfall as necessary context.

The simple answer is most likely ‘because he keeps offering it’
Why does the MSM keep seeking commentary from a man who was sacked from his position as Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs for breaching the public service code of conduct more than 14 times and was stripped of his AO as a result?

Being a News Ltd reporter means never, ever considering you may be the baddies
You have to marvel at the ability of News Ltd pubs who can see a tide of people acting against the News Ltd line and conclude that it is all of them that are wrong

Morry Schwartz attacking Louise Adler and in the process damaging the credibility and independence of his media products ...

I noped out on his first book, recommended to me by two people as an explanation of Trump's win in 2016. It is unbearably narcissistic and shallow.

Because of its specific legal connotations, I refrain from using the word 'fraud' in all but the most obvious cases. But, yeah, I'm not a fan.

Sorry that should have been 'the Haidt effect (derogatory)'

Adler's cause is 'obsessive' but not Morry's

Yeah but with ON support increasing and its ideology being more closely aligned to his, you would think self-preservation would kick in

All of this and not a single cent of funding towards community based deradicalisation programs, support groups for families of radicalised people, harm reduction, anti-racist and respectful relationships programs in schools etc. State oppression is apparently the only answer.

The X situation is an excellent example of the perils of neoliberalism. The state has become so beholden to a private service provider for public service announcements, they're resorting to equivocation on responsibility for CSAM and violent misogyny on that platform rather than risk losing it.
