I can say the reaction in Australia from what I've seen so far when Americans are here is "oh I'm so sorry"
the "americans will be pariahs when they travel!!" discourse is so funny. 1) we deserve it, 2) people in other countries (excluding, say, large parts of Iraq) are in reality pretty chill about americans, great satan or no

Thinking about this cynically, I suspect they maybe always planned to split it and basically pass the gun bits with the Greens and expose the Coalition for calling for all these changes to be rushed in and then imploding when there was a proposal. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
