Whole lotta nope. This is one job that absolutely should not "run in the family."

I want electeds with varied lived experiences and fresh perspectives. Not people tied to a sense of legacy that's not their own. Down with the gerontocracy and with political dynasties.
Dozens of members are nearing the end of their congressional careers and hanging up their voting cards.

But for some, their family’s political legacies will continue, as their kids and relatives run for office in 2026.
All in the family: In 2026, a surge of politicians' kids are running for office
As voters clamor for change, a new generation of Pelosis, Kennedys, Kings and other powerful families are stepping up to keep their political legacies alive.

Bari weiss is a stupid bitch, an entitled cunt, ugly, and a bully who uses identity politics (being gay and jewish) to intimidate people out of open critique and she’s fought all her battles that way bc she’s a bad faith dick, all while decrying identity politics. I want to bully her BAD.
to cut through some of the confusion about this, one thing that i think you can take away with a great deal of confidence is that weiss doesn't know what the words "due judicial review" mean
On left:

Bari Weiss: 60 Minutes segment failed to show Government view that CECOT detainees are due judicial review

On right:

Judge Boasberg Dec 22: "The Government itself has not even contested that the detainees who now make up the CECOT class received inadequate process prior to their removal"

Bari Weiss’ two accomplishments so far are hosting an interview that she desperately wanted people to watch (but they didn’t) and trying to spike a news story that she desperately wanted nobody to watch (but they did)

The Atlantic ran a piece by Adam Serwer that answered that question with some specifics about the process
The Bari Weiss hysteria continues. Exactly what in "this piece isn't ready" and "try harder to get comment from the administration" constitutes the death of American journalism? www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

this is hakeem. hakeem is offering up a pre-written post disconnected from what is currently in the news. it has no resonance and seems robotic.

this is ted. ted is referencing an event happening right now and of relevance to millions.

be like ted. not like hakeem.

The thing about that Graeme Wood article defending Weiss is that he *also* has never worked as a news editor, let alone a TV news editor. It’s bizarre contrarian dilettantism of a type the Atlantic is sadly prone to.

my point is they've been on this trajectory the whole time and would be anyway. The work is worth doing correctly because it's worth doing correctly...but the RWers are going to obfuscate and lie regardless. It's what they do.

A good many people need to get sued for libel in the aftermath of the late ridiculousness. You can see one such fellow below.
In the wake of the tragedy at Brown, online conspiracists rushed to pin the horrific mass murder on an innocent Palestinian student. One of them was Shaun Maguire, a partner at leading VC firm Sequoia Capital.

I mean definitely impeach, charge, try, and imprison or ideally execute Trump, but also do this or similar to virtually every executive official.
There's a reason impeachment of other executive officials basically never happens, and like, the extreme case of Pete Fucking Hegseth this year has me thinking maybe we should make an exception, but not this. This is an absolutely classic case of "it's just the president's fault"
