I had been tempted for weeks to short Nvidia, but I was reminded of the quote often attributed to Keynes that "Markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent."

Every 3 months they bring out Jensen Huang and if he sees his shadow we get 3 more months of AI bubble. The lighting guy is responsible for 30% of the notional value of the S&P 500.

I'm starting to think the cats keep walking in the food prep area of the counter while I'm preparing food specifically because they like being picked up.

I just divested from the last of my stock that came from options that make things complicated enough to make me not trust completely doing them myself, specifically because the AI bubble bursting will tank that stock, so I'm going to have to deal with this product one last time in a few months.
TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

State and Revolution
The Conquest of Bread

My friends will correctly guess which I have read in its entirety and which I've only read some passages of, but it'll be fun seeing all the different takes people have about that selection.
alright let’s get something more pleasant going. what two books would you leave out on your coffee table so a reporter can mention you have them. doesn’t matter if you’ve read them. for me it’s Pale Fire (which I did read) and Ulysses (got like 15% of the way in)

Bad: using arbitrarily different names for the same thing in different contexts.

Worse: "helm install -n foo foo foo/foo"

It's funny watching MAGAts try to gotcha anyone left of them who wants Epstein's clients to go down like we haven't been posting this gif for years.

I think I've posted about this before, but Uptown Girl came on in the car, and I was immediately annoyed that they weren't instead playing West End Girls, which has the same premise but is superior in every way.

The Epstein emails are really reinforcing my belief that concentrating immense power in the hands of a small number of people is inherently dangerous because the people who seek that power are the last people who should have it.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

Personally, I will be trying to avoid the notice of Joyce Carol Oates and Kendrick Lamar for the rest of my natural life
I need Joyce Carol Oates to be mean to me online so I can get my life together

Just had occasion to visit Facebook, and the reels were close to 100% slop. Most were high enough quality that you'd need to engage in some critical thinking to recognize it, so they're probably fooling most people.

I'm not sure the party leadership has fully gamed out what will happen next year when millions of people who blame them for losing health insurance realize that running for Congress is a viable way to get it back.

Democrats weren't going to win. They were going to force Republicans to kill the filibuster. WIthout the filibuster they would be forced in power to pass a lot of things they don't want to pass.
