they/them
Oh, it does. Reputation management companies are even more psychopathic than the industry that serves people weight loss ads on articles about anorexia. A lot of ad brokers don't even know they're doing that until someone calls them out on it, because it's algorithmic, but these people know.

I finally upgraded to a couch with a built-in chaise lounge, and it's wonderful. Should have done this a decade ago.

I've just got the one rake, but it seems to be everywhere I go.

I briefly worked in adtech and never saw anything that depraved.

I don't see anything specific on @wtfjht.bsky.social, so I'm guessing this is more of a general thing they've been working on for longer in anticipation of coup-related activities.

Protein folding is about to get a lot cheaper.

The music industry has already perfected not paying artists without the aid of AI.

B, except when I had a migraine and had already thrown up and they volunteered to go over without me asking.

I'm sure the soldiers who have to get on the remotely piloted helicopter are going to be thrilled that the pilot is in no danger.

Income tax filing is this annual misery ritual that is kept intentionally miserable solely to keep TurboTax and H&R Block in business. Even the IRS thinks it's nuts, but is legally prohibited from fixing it, even though they've already done almost all of the work. 3/3

The IRS calculates our taxes every year, but doesn't tell us what they got unless we get the wrong number and don't have deductions to explain the difference. Because TurboTax lobbied Congress to prevent them from doing that. 2/
November 19, 2025 at 1:19 PM
I don't think TurboTax has any involvement with property taxes. Those are relatively straightforward, since the state and local governments collect them and they haven't lobbied those governments to keep them complicated. 1/

It's 69 in here and my cat won't stop climbing on me to share warmth, which is great for my mental health but maybe not for WFH productivity.

I'm not sure that anyone in the Senate is authorized to have those documents currently. The House Oversight Committee is, but they have strict time limits on their floor speeches. And passing those docs from the House to the Senate might not be protected. They could read some juicy excerpts though.
November 16, 2025 at 9:21 PM
The Speech and Debate Clause hasn't changed, though it would need to be a senator due to time limits.
