I don't think we'll ever get another sentence which sums up everything the New York Times embodies quite like "Some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily kill civilians".
hey @nytimes.com: there is no counterpoint here. There are no credible legal experts who would EVER say that the US military has any right or authority to blow civilian craft out of the Caribbean and kill their crews from afar without any provocation. There is no other side to this question.

Further premeditated killing by the Trump administration.

Labelling the victims of these strikes as "narco-terrorists" does not magically make these attacks legal.

Please amplify this demand. We need y'all. I was there. We were not in the road. ICE simply let loose on us to film themselves brutalizing and arresting protesters—and state police assisted them. They brought charges against scattered people to create a pretext for this inexcusable violence.

This kid is 15, and so has a moral clarity and uprightness that no adult elected official would or could ever have. There aren't really and never have been two sides of this issue, but if it has to be argued as a binary thing I don't see how anything less than this could seem like the side to be on.
this is a letter to the editor from a high school track runner who came in second to a trans girl in a race. her state house rep in maine started talking about it. so she wrote this: www.pressherald.com/2025/05/14/r...

It will never cease to amaze me how many people bitterly resist one of the most obvious and important facts of our time: that when there is a shortage of housing, everything becomes more expensive and destabilized.

Building more housing is one of the most important priorities we face as a country.
