I know not every TV critic is familiar with the trappings of the romance genre, but I’m tired of the implication that sex can’t be an important plot driver for individual and shared character development.
but this? shut the fuck up. guess what, my man, gorgeous young 22 year olds like to fuck. And queer people deserve love stories that are sexy and horny. a "chaste kiss" please be for real.

I haven’t been this excited for a bubble to burst since I was a toddler.
MIT’s NANDA initiative found that 95% of generative AI deployments fail after interviewing 150 execs, surveying 350 workers, and analyzing 300 projects. The real “productivity gains” seem to come from layoffs and squeezing more work from fewer people not AI.
MIT report: 95% of generative AI pilots at companies are failing
There’s a stark difference in success rates between companies that purchase AI tools from vendors and those that build them internally.

So Harvard is keeping this guy, but Claudine Gay had to step down over ginned up plagiarism accusations and bad-faith accusations of anti-Semitism.

Got it.
Larry Summers tells @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social
he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

My brief thoughts on "Death by Lightning" -- the new Netflix series about the assassination of James Garfield, based on the book "Destiny of the Republic" by Candice Millard, one of the most entertaining historical novelists of our era.

Top of my mind: superb casting.

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

Whew, this thread. Feels like the inside of my brain spilling out.
You are the one who has to “do something”. More specifically, the white person who has actually bothered to read this whole thread. The majority of the voting populace that refuses to vote for Democrats with a majority of their votes. Stop desecrating the memory of John Lewis.

Those aren’t reviews. Those are opinions, and they have their place and uses, but they do not substitute for deeply informed and engaging critical writing, which is a skill that takes time, practice, and experience to develop.
Life changes. Organisms/organizations need to adapt. I'm sure people go to crowdsourced info for reviews, like Goodreads, just like Yelp and others for restaurant reviews.

Now is the time to use them incessantly!

Democrats used every possible tool at their disposal to stop this.

It is moving forward because voters chose to let Republicans control Congress and the White House.

If you are mad about it, that’s good — but only if you’re angry at the actual villains here. Be mad at Republicans.
