The core aim of the Terf movement - a tiny number of newspaper columnists who melted the brains of middle aged reactionaries - was always to encourage maximum public hostility against transgender people, and give them the impunity to act upon it.

100% what happened. The history of anti-trans politics is trying to design a legitimizing study around a conclusion, massaging the data when that doesn't work, and then just giving up and raw-dogging what they were going to do anyway.
Kind of feels like the IOC expected for the study to say "yeah trans women are like the hulk somehow" and when it completely undercut the reasoning behind banning us. They have simply elected to ignore their own work.

"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

During WWI, Curie created a vehicle that contained a hospital bed, a generator, an X-ray machine and photographic darkroom equipment. These “petite Curies" (below) could be driven right up to the Front. Curie also helped train 150 women as radiology technicians.

You know what stops potential detransitioners from making mistakes? A safe, open environment they can explore things

Do you know what increases the bad outcome? A closed off, gatekeeping environment that stops people from exploring those things until years after they started questioning

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

I remember being told that this whole fake Brexit referendum is just a strategic move to ensure that the ultra-right wing of Tories and Farage will disappear from the mainstream of shaping British politics for a generation, if not two. Some of the people who told me that still have six-digit jobs.

Like the latest one could totally be the outro music for the end of book 2 when [spoiler] brings [spoiler spoiler]

I have come to the conclusion the EHRC guidance on single sex spaces should not even come to Parliament. It is misleading and has caused distress for my trans constituents.

I urge @bphillipsonMP to reject it on grounds of practicality and human rights.

One of the unexpected things I've learned from my advocacy for trans people is how malignant parts of the State can be, how it can misuse data for positively evil purposes. It's taught me people can't be safe with a digital ID card and so I've signed this. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/73...
Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards
We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.

Just found an old email from LGBT+ Labour from June 2020. It's about a leak to The Times which said the Tory government was about to break its promise to reform the Gender Recognition Act. They had held an emergency meeting to discuss ways to counter the Tories' plans, and had set up a petition. >

This has got to me a bit today so here we go.

No Rebecca we can't have a calm discussion for the way forward when one side's intention is to eliminate us, secondly the heat is coming from one side, it's the side accusing trans people of being paedophiles, rapists, cheats and predators.

I know I keep going on about this but

1) yes

2) it has DEEPLY embarrassed the media people who kept trying to pretend that this regime can be treated as legitimate, and

3) we absolutely cannot let them forget it
even for an unhinged presidency this week has been pretty fuckin unhinged tbh

This is precisely the problem, the refusal by centrist elites to differentiate between challenging ideas and debunked lies. It's not "challenging" to hear that black people are stupid or gay people are degenerates, it's just wrong.
They never complete the sentence, ie "...educators and students must face ideas we find offensive, such as the claim that Black women lack the brain processing power to fly planes or serve on the Supreme Court or that gay people should be stoned to death." Pretty telling that they don't!
The President of Barnard College calls for more controversial speakers like the late Kirk (without citing any of his controversial views), a position at odds with what Barnard colleagues describe as a track record of censoring events and speakers on Palestine. (1/4) www.nytimes.com/2025/09/17/o...
