The MSNBC commentator saying that most political violence has historically come from the left just once again showed how we suffer from failing to learn history. Lynching, pogroms, race riots, the political violence that ended Reconstruction, and against the Civil Rights Movement. Come on.

Unbelievably horrified by this attack in Boulder. We don’t know the full story of the attacker, but no matter what it is, let me be clear: Senseless, antisemitic attacks do not help Palestinians, Jews, or Israelis.
Committing terror attacks against people standing for hostages is disgusting.

Trump Asked EPA Employees to Snitch on Colleagues Working on DEI Initiatives. They Declined.
EPA staff didn’t use a tip line set up by the Trump administration to identify and assist in slashing programs focused on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

“No such thing as bad publicity!” said the Senator, before going “beep beep!” and disappearing into a puff of smoke and leaving just a Chuck Schumer-shaped hole in the wall.
As a party, we are prisoners being held hostage by people who simply refuse to accept that their time has passed and won’t accept that others more capable right now. Stay in the Senate, but step down from leadership. It’s time for a new approach, a new face, & a new voice.

Once again: everyone who spent any time around Trump in the 80s and 90s during his “real estate mogul” era said that if you look him straight in the eye and tell him to go fuck himself he disengages and immediately starts looking for an exit.
Trump’s sputtering response to Harvard standing up to him is yet another reason why institutions should refuse to bend the knee. He’s a paper tiger, unable to argue his own case.

stop calling things deportation just because they call it deportation.
-You cannot legally deport people without due process.
-You cannot legally deport citizens.
-They are defining down deportation to break the law.

This is the first thing that has made me feel optimistic in eight years.
Some anti-doomerism: Trump has never, in his entire life, succeeded at a goal (he didn't even intend to win in 2016). So if his aim is to destroy the world economy, he's going to fuck that up.
so there’s a decent chance— not a certainty, but a decent chance— that this morning was the richest you’ll feel for the rest of your life

Look obviously from a policy or human level it’s a terrible nightmare, but from a storytelling perspective it’s hard not to appreciate the American story coming full circle.
