The cruelty was the point, the failure to properly address compensation is part of the cruelty. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a post office scandal type lawsuit.

When Dunnes staff refused to handle S African goods they were denounced by politicians from FF/FG, as well as "business leaders". The same groups blocking the OTB today. They were spat on, beaten by Gardaí and followed by Special Branch. It took 3 years to shame the govt. into acting. Reluctantly.

This, in a nutshell, is where we’re at. All the lies, the distraction, NGO-blaming and drive towards even further deregulation is to cover the naked fact that, in Ireland, big polluters pull the strings and our politicians just nod along.

For reasons various I have just gone down the internet black hole looking at a Jingstax back for RB cameras. Pretty cool idea. It's an adapted SQ40

It's maybe too niche but I can't find any examples images taken with it.

The Atlantic Salmon has one of nature's great migrations. Right now, they're at the end of their long journey and arriving back to their ancestral rivers.

But in the past 5 decades, their population in Irish waters has dropped by 90% 😞 Without change, we risk losing this iconic fish altogether.
More footage of wild Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar) running in the upper River Mulkear catchment last week. These fish are on their upstream spawning migration.

This is part of the Lower River Shannon Special Area of Conservation (SAC), and salmon are a Qualifying Interest of this Natura 2000 site.

Huh, no more categories in GMail if you turn off Gemini. Guess this is the push I need to get a new email address!
Google removes a variety of longstanding GMail features if you try to withdraw your default consent (!) to having all your content read and used by Google Gemini via "Smart Features." That's an obvious attempt to coerce consent for privacy violations. Legislatures must act to make this illegal.

Check your settings GMail users!
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Our tap water is not as bad as it was when I posted this photo, but it still is not nearly clean. Half this city has been fed rust and manganese for years now, and we've been lied to about it. In any normal country this would be an emergency, but it's fine for the north side of Cork.
