50% of people over 90 have dementia. There are several types, depending on the part of the brain affected. This: "We cannot build enough bricks and mortar … separate memory care communities to meet the needs of those living with dementia, so we have to be more expansive in our thinking."

Is Lewis Black Actually Saying Goodbye to Comedy?
The longtime rage maestro of ‘The Daily Show’ raised alarms when he announced he was retiring from the road. But he assures us he’s not ill—just sick and tired of certain bullshit.

Even so, he said, “the cruelty that goes on that facility … must be 100 times worse." religionnews.com/2025/11/15/a...

This IS real. I checked homeland security's feed. Our government is wrong and the fact that they post at middle-school level (with apologies to middle-schoolers), makes it even more wrong.
This is real. Our govt is Tweeting like a 14 year old and calling Americans imbecilic morons. We worry about children being bullied but this is the example set by the U.S. GOVERNMENT. This is so shameful. I’m embarrassed for any of you that think this is okay or make excuses for it.

As long as he makes money for certain media outlets, he'll be granted air-time to spread this poison.
For blood-and-soil nationalists like JD Vance, there is a “Higher Truth” that overrides all else: The “homeland” is under siege, overrun with enemies who “poison the blood.” Nothing else matters. He certainly doesn’t feel bound by facts, evidence, honesty, norms, or even laws.

Mark your calendar: CBS Sunday Morning and @brian-goldstone.bsky.social
Some news: tomorrow at 9am, Ted Koppel + CBS Sunday Morning will air a two-part story on the devastating surge of full-time workers being pushed into homelessness.

I'll be interviewed along with two families from There Is No Place for Us. It would mean a lot if you'd watch and help spread the word.

Yes, that is as Kafkaesque as it seems; the BIA is saying that a child adjudicated to be abused, abandoned, and neglected, who has already been approved for a status that will permit the child to get a green card, should nonetheless be deported instead — because of backlogs outside of their control.

Can't recall who said this back in the day: Health, Education, and Welfare are the real national defense.
A reminder that the crises routinely treated as separate—housing, food, climate, healthcare, electricity—are anything but.

This moment in America makes it glaringly clear: each feeds the other, driven by the same rapacious, profit-maximizing forces.

"We faced some headwinds during this shutdown. For instance, there was all this momentum for our party’s new, progressive, affordability-minded candidates. That was really hard for us to ignore, but we eventually did."
"Here’s the kicker: We even got them to agree not to pass the healthcare subsidies that we’ve been working for. You know, the ones average Americans rely on. Here’s how we did it: We asked, then they said, 'No way,' and then we said, 'Okay.' That’s how you win."

Here in DuPage County IL, "attainability" is used by developers/owners re micro-units. It's a BS word, of course. Up is down when one signs the initial lease on a 350 sq ft apt. Baked into the developers' biz models are annual, un-absorbable rent hikes.
American Landmark owns roughly 34,000 housing units across the US. Rent increases and tenant displacement are key to its business model. Its parent company is one of Israel's biggest employers, and has touted its ties to the IDF even during the genocide. www.thenation.com/article/soci...

Paraphrasing John Boehner when, after he left the house, he was asked about the always promised, but never materializing GOP healthcare plans: (Laughed hard) Plan!? Republicans don't have a healthcare plan!!
REPORTER: Do you support repealing Obamacare and what's your healthcare plan?

MIKE JOHNSON: We worked on repealing and replacing Obamacare back in 2017. I still have PTSD from the experience. We know that American healthcare needs dramatic reform. We have lots of ideas.

this morning, ICE went into a Spanish language immersion daycare and took a teacher from the building in front of screaming and crying kids and parents at dropoff and the daycare had to shut down for the day (near Lane Tech, where they were yesterday). Really hoping today's "theme" is not "daycare."
