It goes without saying that the internet is not real life, and that the opinions of fans on here are the self-selected opinions of a radical minority.

But it is depressing the extent to which that group generates a sizable influence on culture, consistently in the worst ways.
I don’t know Rian Johnson from Adam, but…he “got spooked” by the negativity? I dunno, he sure bounced back a hell of a lot better than Lucasfilm did.

I don’t know what exact role Kennedy had in shaping the story of THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, but given that film’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd priority is loudly and unambiguously shitting all over THE LAST JEDI, it feels disingenuous to just say Rian Johnson “got spooked.”

This is rad as hell, because it’s A) funny, B) going to ruin some awful peoples’ days, and C) reveals what absolute fragile-as-glass snowflakes these widdle babies are, that the prospect of ice in Minnesota in January gets them this angry.

the people of MN have been murdered, brutalized and kidnapped for weeks now and have remained *amazingly* peaceful in the face of it. lecturing citizens to not “take the bait” etc is pretty disrespectful after a point and avoids the real question: how long are they supposed to take this, undefended?
State investigators have been on the scene in North Minneapolis.

I know you’re angry. I’m angry. What Donald Trump wants is violence in the streets.

But Minnesota will remain an island of decency, of justice, of community, and of peace.

Don’t give him what he wants.

I want to cosign & underline this. Art takes effort. Even the worst art you've ever seen. There's a pretty high floor: a minimum amount of effort it takes to end up with a finished result. Every work of art is a testament to someone's passion to see it through.

Aaaaaand, guess what AI gets rid of.
What I hate most about gen Ai is how it takes away the effort. When I saw art before, I knew that even if it shitty and bad, i could tell that there was someone who worked hard to make it happen. It’s why shit like The Room got popular, because you could see the earnest effort on display.

No! The criticism of the Dems isn't that they never win elections, it's that they don't use power to solve the problems that got us here. Elite impunity, concentration of wealth, the unitary executive. Winning is only step 1

Most of Trump's political actions are incredibly easy to smack down, because they don't make a plan for being smacked down.

They're not geniuses. It's just that their opposition is either complicit or cowards.

The problem is that the child porn website is owned by the richest man in the world, who no one wants to pick a fight with, and even less so now that he's aligned with the president of the U.S., himself a maniacal sex criminal. Nothing gets fixed without breaking the political power of big money
I am once again reminding you all that the UK government introduced an Online Safety Act that is effectively a porn ban on most adult porn websites, but is dithering over banning a website that is actually creating child porn.

This is a heinous war crime and puts all civilian aircraft at risk
Breaking NYT:

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."

This, like the flat and possibly declining price of oil, shows how we're in a phantom economy.

Businesses saw a way to lie about layoffs without worrying investors, so they lied. All those big big numbers making line go up are a fantasy.
