The fresco restoration work marks the culmination of a series of interventions we have carried out on this sanctuary since 2006.
In 2008, I designed an extension to the church and we restored the adjoining house.
In 2011, we designed an access path for wheelchair users.
And now, the frescoes.

ICE agents in Chicago violently detain a non verbal autistic man for being “non compliant”

He couldn’t “comply” because of his disability…they don’t care

This is not the first time they’ve gone after a disabled person

They target the most vulnerable because it’s an easy way to meet their quota

How Brutalism Became Both a Utopian Dream and a Dystopian Meme
Brutalism, an architectural movement associated with state power and science fiction, is perpetually misunderstood – yet it has left an indelible imprint on popular culture.

The viral post about the East Wing demolition contractor calling out the president for unpaid invoices is completely made up, but if you want to actually learn something about the procurement + regulatory environment for firms involved in the project, there's this excellent ENR article from today:
Contractor Compliance Risk Mounts for Firms in White House East Wing Demolition
Lawmakers and preservationists raise questions about fast-moving White House ballroom project, which began before oversight could catch up.

This depiction of standing stones in stone is so meta, I love it
It's #StandingStoneSunday 🥳 The triple stone alignment of Harold's Stones, Trellech, is depicted as a relief carving on Lady Probert's sundial of 1689, now in the local church

This shows the stones have barely changed in 3 centuries 😮
