I’m hearing from many residents who are concerned about the City of Ottawa’s direction that all staff must work in the office five days each week.

Like you, I was surprised to learn about this directive.

Bezos spiked the Washington Post editorial endorsing Harris, saying that the paper needed to stay neutral to maintain the trust of its readership.

Now the Washington Post editorial board is out with a piece urging Congress to rubber stamp nearly all of Trump's cabinet nominees

The top issue of the 2016 election was information security and email server management. After November, it didn't matter.

The top issue of the 2024 election was candidate age and mental fitness. After July, it didn't matter.

Then the top issue was grocery prices. It stopped mattering already.
Trump says, on lowering the price of groceries: “It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard.” He's right! time.com/7201565/pers...

It's so weird to me that the word "disrupt" has taken on this glow in the eyes of some (strange) people. You can disrupt a school play by standing up and screaming profanities. Disruption is quite easy, especially if you have enough money and power. It doesn't suggest you'll do any better.

the GOP didn't make headway with these groups by listening to them, they made headway through massive societal-scale right-wing cultural propaganda that completely submerged the lowest-information voters
I think Democrats would benefit from listening to what the working-class Latino, Asian, Black, and immigrant voters in this piece have to say about politics
For our latest cover story, Simon van Zuylen-Wood reports on how Donald Trump’s rising popularity in New York City (and everywhere else) exposed a Democratic Party deep in denial: trib.al/G8I0r8D

Trump isn't a magical demon. He and the figures around him are just people. Their time and attention is limited, and they're not the most competent. Make things hard for them, and while you'll lose some, you'll win some too.

And as Bouie notes, marginal Trump voters didn't sign up for all this.
so here is the thing, the people who have trump the win did not vote for this. they voted out of a magical belief that trump would lower prices and make them rich. the gap between what they voted for and what trump will deliver is the space for political opportunity! bsky.app/profile/fkes...
This is what the country voted for. Sad.
