it is almost as if accommodating and conceding to far right ideas legitimizes them and signals to voters that the far right is a legitimate choice for governance
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

The MTG pivot is a good dragnet for identifying the most gullible people in all of mankind. Also, it's cross-political. You can identify the easiest marks left, right, and center here. A very easy, inoffensive, diverse way to identify our society's finest wallet inspector customers

It's impossible to be an informed consumer in health care. It's a byzantine structure of unknown costs, prior authorizations, cost shifting billing, with the highest costs in the world, because elected officials won't do what needs to be done. So no, that won't make people informed consumers.

ok bill then stop enabling the day's troubles every day
BRENNAN: Do you regret your confirmation vote for Secretary Kennedy?

CASSIDY: You live life forward. Again, you just do. Let the day's own troubles be sufficient for the day.

BRENNAN: That sounds like yes

capitalism is the best engine for innovation that's why all our new consumer products these days are a computer that helps you kill yourself or a muffin that's suspiciously high on protein

Computers were a skill. They were taught in classrooms as a skill. Skills give you power over your tools because you work them as an expert and that is leverage to multiply externally.

And then computers became an A/B tested telemetry-based advertising conduit to brains for SaaS recurring revenue.

There's a lot we have not visualized in a useful way.

One of the big ones is the SHIFT in govt employment from "people who cure cancer" and "people who make sure your Social Security comes on time" and "people who care for veterans" to "people who kidnap your neighbors."

The amount of AI used for necromancy is unsettling. There's worse use cases, like decisions over who gets to keep living, but there's something especially ominous about AI companies marketing products that essentially let people create undying simulacra of their loved ones, subscription implied.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed
