regarding trees: “for every one that is removed, two more will be planted.” sounds like after 10-15 years it will be a net positive of tree cover alone, not to mention all the forest at the edge of the suburbs that will be spared since we’ll have more dense housing available in the city

Macklemore might not be running for mayor, but you can still mark your ballot for me. Head to your ballot drop box before 8 pm on Tuesday.

if you haven't already, vote for a mayor that supports more bus lanes! (hint: it's probably the candidate that rides the bus)
Ghost buses have been rampant, so Fix the L8 Ghost Bus-ters set out Thursday night to track them down while asking riders to email to local leaders and remind them to vote!

Make sure you vote by Tuesday, ideally via a ballot drop box!

had water issues with the radio broadcast last night but I’m still planning on bringing it to future Critical Mass and Bike Disco events. come hang out and bring an FM radio to tune in!
Critical Mass Seattle is on and it’s raining!

We deserve better. Dehumanizing our neighbors by using photos of them on their worst days without their consent is unacceptable. We have a lot of work to do to address homelessness, but this only moves us further from that goal by othering real people in an attempt to score cheap political points.

so proud of my city ❤️
We got some updated data on the Seattle Link today—the system remains one of the fastest-growing US rail networks & broke into the top-10 by ridership!

It's sure to grow more, as an extension to Federal Way opens in December, while the 1 & 2 lines will be connected next year

this is why just getting people to vote at all is a great use of time and energy. help your friends and family make a plan to vote, give them reminders, and make sure the ballot gets all the way to the ballot box!

Seattle Wants to Elect Progressives This Fall

In a new Stranger/DHM Poll, progressive challengers are coming out on top across the board. But in the mayoral race, it’s all about voter turnout.

Fatal hit and run right in my neighborhood.

15th Ave NW is seven car lanes wide right here. It’s way too wide.

But the city and our neighborhood CM works hand-hand-hand with the freight lobby to keep it that way—polluting these dense communities at the same time.
Seattle Fire just responded to a driver hitting someone walking at 15th Ave NW and NW 73rd Street, 30 minutes ago.

This was a hit-and-run.

I'll provide updates on the person who was hit as they become available.
