SDOT just announced they'll be completing the final block of the Beach Drive SW Healthy Street on Alki Point, finally connecting the multiuse path to 63rd Ave SW. This block was not included in the original project, installed in 2024.

The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks connect to the Burke-Gilman Trail to the north. To the south, users can cross an old biking and walking bridge over the railroad tracks to get up the hill to the W Government Way bike lanes connecting to the Ship Canal Trail and the Terminal 91 Trail to the downtown waterfront. It’s official: the 15th Ave W/NW & Ballard Bridge Paving & Safety Project is now complete. This project was funded by the voter-approved 2015 Levy to Move Seattle and Seattle Transit Measure. Thank you, Seattle!

New traffic signals at NW 51st St and 15th Ave NW in Ballard were activated this morning, creating a new connection across 15th Ave NW for people walking, biking, and rolling to & from Ballard's Brewery District and its historic downtown.

The Big Dark is here, but new lights under the Leary Way Bridge in Ballard shine bright. This work was completed during the recent repaving and bridge strengthening project along 15th Ave W/NW and the Ballard & Leary Way Bridges.
