Why did I check the quote tweets on this? I knew they were going to depress me, just wall to wall people who are going to be poorer than they should be in old age who think that “invest more in stocks and shares ISAs” is some kind of spiv’s charter and not, you know, important advice.

This website is the last bunker of a dying, redundant pre-disposition. I don't think a genuinely useful microblogging platform actually exists anymore, it's a dead medium.

My first turn as an actor was treading the boards in a Year 5 production of Othello at (my very diverse) CofE primary school (in Zone 2 of NW London).
I was cast as Othello.

Reasons I would have been fired had I become a primary school teacher: I would absolutely give into the temptation to do a child-friendly version of Ionesco's 'Rhinoceros'.
Part of the trick is to actually just do a contemporary dance without telling the boys that's what they are actually doing. Jonah and the Whale is good for this. You just need the Voice of God, Jonah, some sleazy Ninevities in speaking roles. Some kids who like arts and crafts make the whale.

I don’t think it’s bonkers, given the backdrop, for a new government to go ham. I don’t know if it will work and find it hard to imagine Starmer as a ‘disruptor’ but the current formation of the British state is not tenable anymore and nobody really believes it is apart from people on Bluesky
