I like the contemporary room at the National Portrait Gallery, or as I call it, "The People who've Blocked Me on Twitter Gallery"
Absolutely amazing cope from the reliably vapid Hutton. What does that last sentence even *mean*?

Only amateurs are posting the Otto English "It's nice isn't it - the quiet" screenshot now, real ones are saving it for Starmer's resignation

Join my campaign to cut the personal allowance so we can massively increase taxes on the affluent whilst pretending we're just making the poor pay their fair share in tax

Clive Lewis MP continues not to be suspended from the PLP for some fucking reason.

Reader: it is indeed terrible
I'm enjoying this time after all the intense publicity build-up and premiere, the pause before we get to read the reviews and discover just how bad "Wuthering Heights" is.

“Wes Streeting: consistently pro-Palestine”, an entirely true statement believed only by six people, three of whom are pro-Israel MPs on the right of the Labour party who will therefore not nominate him.

The Dynastic Jewels exhibition at the Hotel de la Marine is a beautifully curated, lavishly decorated, richly contextualised and thoughtful showcase of how quite much money Qatar has. With some nice jewellery in, too.

I'm in the #YangGang are you?
If some random MP's can meme Al Carns to leader on the basis, essentially, he was in the military we can meme Yuan Yang leadership from Bluesky on the basis of her dog.

The only way Labour can win the next election is by governing well.
That might not be enough, but it’s the bare minimum.
The questions to be asking about any potential new PM are “what is their agenda and can they achieve it?”
Not “do they currently poll well?”
Or “can they handle a media round?”

Tension starting to get unbearable as we get this social media crap

I just feel like have they considered governing in such a way that the country gets better and people notice? For a treat?
The Labour Party has one mission: to stop the calamity of Reform UK, which in normal times would never get near power, entering govt. We've seen how that goes in the US, and the working class voters Labour seeks to represent would be hurt the most. If they can't even manage that they're a disgrace.

The accusation that the Lords are “obstructing democracy” by supporters of the assisted dying bill is a ridiculous one that shows up the flaws in this process that have been there from the very beginning – which have repeatedly been covered up by heated rhetoric (1/?)

Nonsense, I’m sure this is completely fine and will not at all act as a gateway drug to other conspiracies and I’m sorry, I couldn’t finish this skeet over the rushing noise of upcoming Jew-blaming
I really, REALLY do not like the flourishing "wow, it turns out conspiracy theories are correct!"

Surprisingly, with the very lovely if not quite *there yet* haute couture debuts at Dior and Chanel, I've decided Valentino was my favourite of the week. A first and welcome move, clear homage to the Pier Paolo Piccioli in the colour stories of some of the frocks.

(Peep show format also fun)
