one thing about this is that in the wake of all of this kirk is basically forgotten. he was barely cold in the ground before his allies — before his *wife* — started scheming over what they could take for themselves. a real life parable.
New: Reuters has tallied job losses, suspensions and investigations stemming from the reaction to Charlie Kirk's Sept. 10 assassination. Its findings: More than 600 Americans have been punished, and the figure is likely to be an under-count.

No one should have to face such threats.

It would’ve been nice if Greene had realized this before she amplified and endorsed calls for executing Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.

Nuzzi's fawning coverage of the sociopathic conspiracy crank she was having an affair with aided his rise to political power, which he is using to perpetrate the worst intentional public health catastrophe of our unnecessarily shortened lifetimes, and THAT is the STORY.

It's never comfortable to recognize a double-standard, but when the deaths from wanton butchering in Sudan are "mass killing" but deaths in a war with Hamas in Gaza are "genocide," maybe a little dispassionate judiciousness is in order.
What a callous thing to say
10,000 dead in a few days, and the Yale Daily News calls it genoc

no wait

*touches earpiece*

I'm being informed that the term this time is "mass killings"

Huh. Interesting.

Want to see how far right the Republican Party has gone?

Watch George H. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan answer a question about illegal immigration during a 1980 debate.

They wouldn’t even be allowed in today’s Republican Party.

When you have an administration that so constantly, shamelessly, openly lies, pretty soon there’s no faith in any information streams coming from the administration, so there’s no way to convey true information in a way that lands right, which leads to more chaos.

Again, this is a well-documented pattern: white criminality is framed as unexpected and shocking, non-white criminality as predictable and due to cultural failures. (Class matters too, ofc.)

The whole framing radiates shock and surprise, as if this is simply inconceivable.

It’s also worth noting that as soon as it became clear the Trump shooter had no real legible politics and certainly not from “the left” he completely vanished into anonymity. No one knows his name.
Is it just me or does this share a lot of commonalities with the attempted Trump assassination last summer? Maybe worth exploring those
