What did he know‽
I suspect we are, probably for our own mental health, underestimating the degree to which the Trump administration is dominated by the worst swingers imaginable
Call me old fashioned, but aren’t both parts of this relationship currently, uh, married to other people?

it always cracks me up that “brick oven pizzas and craft breweries” are the defining features of coastal cities vs. the reality of like being able to get incredible roti, tacos, and khao soi

also we have actual transit and walkable neighborhoods instead of endless strip malls

This is the single best part of the prequels, and it works as a Mythic-Heroic legend that gets passed down in-universe. If Filoni's Clone Wars is canon, Tartakovsky's Clone Wars is how people in canon remember them.
Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars started 22 years ago today.

And it was great. It actually reconciled me with Star Wars. Still available on Disney+.

"the revolt of the bosses" is a good way of framing the elite reaction to woke 1. what's particularly interesting is that this isn't a reaction to an attack on profits--it's a reaction to changes in workplace culture--

which is to say, the psychic wage of hierarchy
I suspect that the revolt of the bosses element of all this really is explained by: a bunch of upper echelon Americans really didn't like the cultural and workplace changes induced by Woke era, some portion of them were pushed into internet insanity, but most just wanted a shift slightly right....

This is gender because

1. most of the guys who try to dunk on him are men
2. most of their reasoning for why they're smarter than him is "fashion is femme coded"
Seeing dudes try to step to the menswear guy makes me understand better the mentality of the regular Street Punks who keep hassling Kiryu in Act 3 of every Yakuza game when hes got all the abilities unlocked

CHOTINER: So your son is 14, is that right?

IKARI: It's complex, Isaac. If—

CHOTINER: And the “robot” he pilots, that’s actually the child of an alien you keep crucified in the basement, which is possessed by the spirit of his dead mother?

IKARI: Look, let me answer the question.

CHOTINER: Sure.

🚨NEW: Declarations filed in the lawsuit against the rushed attempt to deport 600 Guatemalan children reveals the chaotic way the Trump admin carried out the operation.

Children were taken out of bed after midnight to be rushed onto planes. One girl "was so scared she vomited."

I think it's now possible to make a poli-sci course that equips one for modern political analysis better than most classic theory and has a syllabus sourced entirely from random internet posts.

i wrote down a list of things i would not do for money before i started my job. incidentally i have also taken a buyout as of three weeks ago.
i think for any kind of compromise (and we all make them) it helps to have a clear idea of how you make a difference and what you will/won't tolerate. for a lot of people they tend to only consider this reactively as a way to forestall a big disruptive life change

Can confirm. It’s also useful to reincorporate a cheese sauce that broke. Sprinkle of citrate and an immersion blender brings it right back. The blending does most of the work but a little sprinkle is nice
