"This Isn’t a Plan: Gutting Clean Energy Means Missing Out on Economic Opportunity"

In 2000, Chinese applicants filed 18 internationally competitive clean energy patents. By 2022, over 5,000, more than 2X amount filed by US.

it doesn't seem like too much to ask for at least a brief moratorium on "centrist" Dems knifing their own party members while Trump is attempting to pass the worst piece of legislation since the Fugitive Slave Act

What new horror did the Supreme Court unleash this afternoon?

At @lawdorknews.bsky.social, I explain: “In short, seven justices are allowing eight people to be sent to South Sudan.”

Read my full report at Law Dork now:
SCOTUS allows Trump admin to send eight men to South Sudan with no process
Sotomayor, joined by Jackson, dissented, calling their colleagues' actions in the case "indefensible." It was one of several alarming signs for the nation on the Third of July.

A militarized secret police force with more funding than our actual military and without accountability to anyone is certainly a thing a tyrant would want.
Lunacy. They just funded Trump’s private army.

*Republicans* did this. Republicans.
Congress voted to pass the largest job-killing bill in history.

Congress voted to take away health care from 17 million people to pay for tax breaks for billionaires.

Congress voted to take away food assistance from 3 million people.

Congress voted to betray working people.

I've got a lot of data on the new Trump budget bill coming out tomorrow at 8:00 AM Eastern at gelliottmorris.com/subscribe/. This will be the most unpopular law in at least the last 30 years. And what a disgrace.

“Congress” didn’t pass this murder budget.

Republicans did it.

Republicans did it without a single Democratic vote in the House, without a single Democratic vote in the Senate.

Be precise and give, uh, credit where credit is due

I keep getting some combination of this post despite multiple explanations about it. So again:

Hospitals operationalize Medicaid finances far into the future. Budget cuts, layoffs, project cancellations, closures, etc. will begin -immediately.-

The GOP passed a budget that will eviscerate health care in rural areas. They delayed much of the impact for after the midterms, hoping the public will think any discussion of the impending collapse is hyperbolic.

Local reporters have a chance to do service journalism that'll make a splash too.

The fiscal conservatives in the GOP just added $4 trillion to the deficit to give the wealthiest people on earth a tax cut. The pro-family party just took healthcare away from 17 million Americans to give ICE a bigger budget than Brazil’s military. The single most inhumane bill ever passed.

This bill is an act of war by the billionaires and their white nationalist allies against the people of the United States.

It will take health care from millions of people to fund tax cut for billionaires, secret police to arrest the President’s critics, and concentration camps.

It’s fascism.

AOC is exactly right; we're going to see ICE used to fill concentration camps with immigrants and opponents of the regime.

It's going to happen on an industrial scale that's in line with examples we associate with the worst regimes of the 20th century.

It's happening here.
I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

The more I think about this statement the more remarkable it is. Zohran Mamdani is basically saying: If you threaten immigrants with your secret police, you're threatening all of us. Very solidaristic. Dems can learn from this.

They're *betting* that five decades of respectability politics means that they'll do it *quietly.*
so my irl social circle is in freakout mode today because of student loan payments and skyrocketing health insurance rates, and I'm curious what the powers that be think will happen when millions of so far apolticial Americans suddenly can't afford to live
