It's actually a really bad sign for the movie if they're focusing this hard on continuity, or "correcting" Bond's death in No Time To Die. That's how we ended up with "The Rise of Skywalker."
You just have a guy say "I heard you died," and Bond smile and say "I heard that too."

James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Maxwells compliance with Trump also has to be viewed through the lens that Maxwell could reasonably assume that Trump ordered that Jeffrey Epstein be killed while he was in prison.
“The President sent his lawyer to negotiate a settlement with a convicted sex trafficker to provide cushy accommodation in exchange for her silence on his participation in said sex trafficking” is a cold description of the facts of an insane story that the media doesn’t find worthy of scrutiny

People aren't actually stupid, and know that the entire economy has Wile E. Coyote'd its way off a cliff and just hasn't looked down yet. Speculative bubbles, trade wars, layoffs or the threat thereof: the first shoe dropped ages ago and the second one is clearly coming.
I’m sorry, but this doesn’t really explain why everyone is suddenly fixated on the economy being terrible and thinks nothing is affordable. It’s true that services+housing are increasing in cost relative to goods.
BUT this is a long-term trend, and until 2021ish, everyone seemed pretty optimistic!

Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.
If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

The 8 Dems who voted with Republicans last night might think they’re safe because they aren’t up for reelection in 2026. They might think people will forget what they did.
Too bad for them, I’ve never gotten over anything in my life and I will make sure everyone remembers.

"Boostraps" is an old-timey word for "shoelaces."
Picture a person picking themselves up by bending over and grabbing their own shoelaces. Absurd, right? Can't work? Defies the laws of physics?
That impossibility is what the phrase was meant to illustrate.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

This is exactly correct.
Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

Schumer's imaginary friends told him to cave. He ignored the polls that showed the Democrats were winning the shutdown, he ignored the groundswell of popular support for progressive candidates, he ignored all of that because "The Baileys" in his head told him otherwise.
MSNBC reported Schumer's office felt that the longer that shutdown went on, the more likely it was that people would start to blame the Dems.

As this vote moves to the House, I stand with Democratic leadership as they refuse to rubber stamp the full-scale Republican assault on Americans’ health care and I am proud of the majority of Senate Democrats who opposed this vote.
