For two years, I've been investigating claims that Texas A&M University has been overtaken by the forces of gay race communism. The truth is a little more complicated: www.texasmonthly.com/news-politic...
What’s the Matter With Texas A&M?
Five presidents in five years. Firings of “woke” professors. Crackdowns on Plato. Inside state leaders’ efforts to remake a great university.

Both Anthropic and OpenAI are rushing to dump their sorry carcasses onto the public markets, and ”training” is going to be something they frame as a different kind of expense. In reality, training is as necessary a fuel for OpenAI or Anthropic as gasoline is for a car.

TD Cowen’s Jerome Darling estimates that it costs $42m+ per megawatt to build a data center and Oracle wants to build 10GW of them. $50 billion on top of $56 billion already raised is not sufficient (needs $189bn+) to complete the 4.5GW to service OpenAI’s $300bn, 5-year-long deal.
“.. [it’s] the first time a tech giant has been forced to raise equity since the AI boom kicked off .. it could mean a slightly slower pace of aggregate spending ..

“.. It’s notable that Oracle couldn’t find any strategic partners to participate in this capital raise ..”

To be clear, the other biggest story in AI right now is that NVIDIA is specifically NOT giving OpenAI $100 billion, which they need so that they are able to start paying Oracle, who needs that money to pay the debt. Hey where’re you going didn’t you want any stock

Partial confirmation of what my source told me. The victims only traveled a short distance- sounds like they just left the immediate area. Meanwhile the CBP officers left the scene and at least didn't pursue them very hard.

Did they panic and run? Get lost?

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

it is impossible for mayors or cops to learn positive lessons about protest response because they all have two immovable beliefs:

1. it is evil and childish to hold police officers accountable for violent acts

2. cops must be present at all times during protests
The lesson Frey and Walz were supposed to learn in 2020 was that sending riot police to a peaceful protest creates a confrontation that results in some dipshit cops shooting people in the eye with a gas canister which then we have to goddamn pay for in settlements while also our city burns.

periodically I'll see a backlash that goes a little too far or seems kinda unfair. i never say anything because i think we need to be kinda unhinged and zealous in our response to this shit. I'd take an honest-to-God crusade against this stuff over letting it proliferate.

I also call bullshit on them making $13 billion this year, as I call bullshit that OpenAI made $1.58bn in the space of a month. Also isn’t it weird that OpenAI is mysteriously raising this huge round but we don’t know…anybody in it? Other than maybe Amazon? Is this leak meant to be an advert?
