A man from a place. Medievalist. PhD. I have nothing helpful to say, but that absolutely will not stop me.
I'm not a lawyer, obviously. I'm not a Chicago resident. I have no stake here, but I think if you look at this objectively, it just makes Tara Palmieri look like a hack farming for clicks. If you are in this kind of situation, you need to do exactly what @katmabu.bsky.social did. Walk.

My brother has a “Die Bart Die” tattoo on his body.

You read that right. It literally says “Die Bart Die.”

As he told me many times, “That’s German for ‘The Bart, The.’”
my brother has a SS tattoo on his body.

you read that right. a literal SS.

he was a 'S'cout 'S'niper. Marines often used the flag, yes the flag youre probably thinking of, as their own symbol in group pics.

as he told me many times "we take our enemy's symbols. just be glad you dont understand."

I think what I find particularly galling about the people saying stuff like this (and I’m shocked by the volume of it) is that we are years out from having to “make a decision” on who to vote for and there is zero interest in trying to *move the politicians* on this or any other issue.

Incredible statement here: even with video evidence, and an admission from the hero-lobbing hero, the feds got no-billed. And rightly so - the notion that this rose to the level of a felony was a joke to begin with, imo.

I mean, the guy can oversee planes falling out of the sky, so why can't he oversee rockets blowing up, right? We don't need better experts, just bigger bangs.
sure why not

Current US economic policy:

I get the point trying to be made here, but it starts from the wrong place. "Nancy stepped aside when her time came" (she was 83). "Joe stepped aside, but too late" (he was 82). "Schumer is stubbornly hanging on no matter what" (he's 74). The problem is not one guy, it's the whole apparatus!
Nancy stepped aside when her time came. Joe stepped aside but made the decision too late in the game. But it seems that Schumer is stubbornly going to hang on no matter what, and what the base wants doesn’t seem to matter a whole lot.

I'm not a lawyer, but I can't help but feel that if the judge starts the hearing like this, you're probably not going to have a great time. This seems like a "please let a hole in the earth open up and swallow me" moment.

If I've learned anything from @alabseries.bsky.social it's that judges absolutely love this shit. If a judge does something you don't like, you should immediately run and tattle on them. Especially if you're going to be arguing in front of them on a regular basis. It will work out great for you.
