🏳️‍⚧️ November 13th - 19th is #TransAwarenessWeek! While trans people (and trans stories) deserve far more than just your awareness, here’s a list of books by and/or about trans people and trans experiences that have been published (so far) in 2025! 🧵

I talk to the press professionally, I'm really, really, really good at it.

So please, please believe me when say you cannot turn this interview request into anything good, it will do only harm. Harm to you, harm to your child, harm to other children.
heads up to anyone who holds trans kids near: amy harmon from the nyt is searching for and having a hard time finding people to interview to find out exactly what trans kids are doing when their care is limited or cut off, and for purposes of community safety, please shut the fuck up around her.

Tonight's even more proof the mainstream reporters who are still on Twitter are suffering from a brain problem akin Havana Syndrome that is preventing them from accurately doing their jobs. They are being cooked alive by a snuff-focused apartheid algorithm.

I looked into the group and the guy pushing the FBI to create a new designation of “transgender ideology–inspired violence and extremism”—itself a political project, meant to conflate the fact of trans people’s existence with extremism.

A campaign for the FBI to adopt a new designation of “transgender ideology–inspired violence and extremism” is less about law enforcement than politics.

I would love for a single democrat to reckon with the fact that conservatives are not in fact motivated by reasonable concerns. They are — just as they were with ‘concerns’ over blacks and gays and numerous other minorities over the last five decades — motivated by bigotry.

as a trans journalist, it just feels like gaslighting at this point, abusive behavior, these sorts of takes coming from the nyt itself — in light of this publication's *active and ongoing and devoted* contribution to the actual problem.
I wrote about what the desperate attempt to find a trans connection to the Charlie Kirk assassination tells us about the deep psychological impulses at work in Trumpism. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/19/o...

Yeah, the only reason we're hearing about this person is because they (might) be trans. The press is just bringing this up to try to tie trans people to something we had nothing to do with.
Have you *ever*, in all the thousands of shootings in America, heard a word about a friend, roommate or partner of a shooter?

For years, if not decades, voices demanding gun reform have been accused of “politicizing” violence—and of casting blame “too soon” in the wake of tragedy.

When it wasn’t gun rights but trans people on the line, that rhetoric went out the window.

Fun to see the names on that second letter!!!!!

The media made a bad situation even worse
At a time when serious people are calling for calm and reconciliation, the media’s failure to follow the most basic rules of good journalism made America less safe.

This entire narrative pushed by the far right of an "epidemic of trans violence" is completely bullshit.

It's propaganda designed to stoke hatred and incite violence against trans people while building support for policies designed to eradicate our community.

No, there is not an 'epidemic' of shootings by trans people
There's still no evidence trans people commit more violence than others, experts say, despite online claims of an 'epidemic' of trans attacks.

Ultimately this narrative turns conservative attacks into even more calls for the left to reform.

it's a lie and should be called a lie. you can't compromise with this.
hi, cis folks!

the GOP put the all-ages trans medicaid ban back in the budget, despite it being struck. they did it to force dems to challenge it on the floor.

if you've been paying attention, you know dems need to hear you want them to actually stand up to the GOP. contact info at reps.fyi 🧵
