There is something to be said about how white/western folks consume media outside of North America or media by people of colour that they reduce even the most violent/prolific works as “cozy” or “soft” or “uwu”.
Degrading, but also missing major media literacy about what the works entail at all.

The whole "pointless sex scenes" shite that has popped up in the last decade or so has consistently made me want to eat my own fucking thumbs. Truly a realm of media discussion for the straightest, most cornball losers.
The desexualisation of media (everyone is beautiful, and no one is horny) combined with an increasing hysteria around the 'pointlessness' of sex scenes is a key part of the fascistization of western culture and if we're going to fight back we're going to need to make it normal to be horny again.
