Take me down to the Parallax city where the far moves slow and the near moves quickly

Only about halfway through this so far (and I only watched one episode of the show) but it's really, really good.

Like you can still laugh at so many of the people who were peddling them because so often it would turn into some daft racist shite, but I remember the vibe back then being more "haha, you clown. The State is a Serious Place where people are just Tryin' Their Best in a Sensible Way"
February 1, 2026 at 3:49 PM
Kinda wild that so many of the big conspiracy theories people were laughing at a couple of decades ago were just real huh

⚠️ NEW VIDEO ⚠️

2025 was another amazing year for indies but there were too many that didn't get anywhere near as much attention as they deserved.

Here are 5 of my favourite underrated titles and a montage of 129 upcoming ones, so get your wishlists ready!

I feel like a lot of people are going to use the moment we're in, these new files that have come out that link Epstein to chuds like Moot, to be like "the internet was a mistake and anyone who believed in it was a fool."

I would offer an alternative: our enemy, namely capital, is the same as ever.

It's kinda wild how Leon is just a really good mentor-student thriller, and then there's just what feels like a whole separate film where she wants to fuck him and he's... not sure if he wants to fuck her and then the camera just leers at a child. Luc Besson you've gotta not do that
January 30, 2026 at 3:45 PM
OBAA is one of the staggeringly few films of this era I think people will actually remember in years to come, Lighthouse is great, Leon could be really good if it weren't for the weird sexualisation of a very young Natalie Portman and Whiplash is bad to watch as a musician
January 30, 2026 at 3:38 PM
This might just be me being weird but does anyone else think of things as recent, forgetting that they're actually old as fuck? Like I just saw a video reference Viva La Vida by Coldplay. I still think of that as one of their recent songs. It's almost two fucking decades old

Anyway, if you need me to edit your writing/consult on a script, write for your website, do a lil mock review, edit/mix your audio, make some music for something you're working on, my DMs are open and my rates are good.

A VALUABLE PERSPECTIVE HAS HIT THE TIMELINE
Longform video discourse on the timeline. I've done both for years so:

-long videos are (sometimes) successful because people want to listen/virtually hang out with a voice for a long time

-trite and overlong material still performs because many audiences aren't there for crafted writing

I value your time. Clearly this is a mistake. No one wants that

Got a couple of comments recently on my Death Stranding 2 analysis basically saying "you say this is "in-depth" but it's only half an hour long." Yeah because I actually give the remotest shit about the craft you moron

It is *staggering* how common this is, and pretty depressing how deeply the algorithm seems to favour it. As long as it's got a flashy thumbnail and a title like "Donkey Kong Broke Me." (and optionally a dude on a green screen) it doesn't matter. People can fall asleep to it. Watch time baby
Too many video game YouTube essays aren’t doing analysis! They’re just listing every single thing that’s in the video game and explaining the story beats in the order they occur. We used to have standards! It used to be a real website!

“Let People Enjoy Things,” like “Let People Hate Things,” is a nothing phrase—an abdication of saying anything substantive, dressed up as generosity. Its real function is to discourage any kind of thinking.

Critics shouldn't worry about crowd management.

The only thing unique to Highguard there is the TGA stuff.

I'd be kinda weirded out if someone didn't feel scared about that. You'll be fine, to be clear, but it's also very much something I and a lot of peers I've talked to have dealt with. You can see it as a reminder that you're actually a Balanced Individual who recognises this is a fuckin weird thing!
January 29, 2026 at 11:53 AM
To be clear, I also don't know how you have the idea of dedicating years of your life, likely overworking yourself, to make something so crushingly average on even the basic conceptual level and think "yes. This is good. We should do this" but again that is in no possible way unique to Highguard
