New Avatar looks great. Now is a great time for children to see the story of a powerful young person living at the end of the world trying her best for change with nothing but what is left of her family and an amputation. And there's a nice little rainbow

Unironically they should buy up the domains for about 60 defunct local newspapers in swing states. Hire two reporters to write almost exclusively about highschool sports and new restaurants opening with every 10th article about how the local GOP is screwing over people.

Democratic mega-donors are debating plans to spend tens of millions of dollars on a range of influencer plans to "find the liberal Rogan."

We've got pitch decks, investor meetings, and internal docs.

One Democrat has a spreadsheet of 26 different proposals.

I said it would get worse very quickly. By tomorrow we will have completed the most dangerous & frightening 24 hours thus far of Trump 2.0. Just to name a few:
1. Defiance of a court order by sending migrants to Sudan without due process (despite clear DP decision SCOTUS) & Dist. CT. order.

Tradition states that last night Jesus emptied out all the jails. Spent Saturday night telling people “I don’t care what you did, people weren’t made for prisons.” The next day to prove His point He broke out of solitary. It is finished. Easter is incompatible with the carceral state. Happy Easter.

Given the state of the world right now it would be really nice to have an Android app that securely dumps / restores the entire contents of your phone to an encrypted USB thumb drive and does a clean install.

Restoration would require multiple security steps (thumb, face, tokens, password).

It seems Tesla is detecting vehicles that may have problems, and artificially running their odometers faster so the warranty expires before they have to do any service

Just incredible grift

Incidentally, I feel like this is a general problem with conspiracy theories, especially the most stupid ones. Like, nobody wants to write a book on "Evidence we landed on the moon" because it's a long the lines of "literally millions of pages of documentation and you can see stuff left on the moon"

Were I the Democrats I’d make life as difficult as possible for the fascist kleptocrats disappearing legal residents, winding back health rights, and firing thousands of people. But I’m not a Democrat so what do I know. Maybe “Give them what they want” will work. No 20th century analogs for that.

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive):

1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment*

2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything

3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can

4. Citizens march en mass

A massive, massive sports betting scandal is like the sports equivalent of global warming in that ppl can see it coming a mile away and know it has potential to do irrevocable harm to its host and yet the powers that be have decided to look the other way because there's too much money to be made rn.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

A sincerely beautiful set of thoughts written by someone who has a heart and mind clearly open. Powerful reminders of what we can do now with the time we have to do it
Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.
