I took Carl Sagan and Mr. Rogers seriously. My bad.

Kermit the Frog apologized yesterday for his racist tirade on twitter.

"Eat my shorts," was all Jim Henson said when asked for a comment.

Kermit promised to do better next time.

The USA owes SOOO much money to the people of Iraq. We should start by nationalizing and liquidating Halliburton, and seizing everything owned by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al.
i'm very sorry but i do not agree with the notion that a country that invades another and wrecks its shit should not pay reparations, like ever

Yikes! Once again, I ask 'how the hell did so many people just unquestioningly absorb antisemitism?'

Did they never question the culture they grew up in? Did they never examine their values or look for contradictions in their ideas?

And how the hell do they cling to it after meeting actual Jews?
You know, from time to time I will post that I personally think the Versailles Treaty was perfectly reasonable, and one particular pushback you see from Brits of a lefty persuasion is "well what about Keynes, he opposed it"

And I truly recommend looking up what exactly he said

It's kind of impressive how the Duffer brothers created a show that felt fresh & fun. It was about the 80s while being something that could have been made in the 80s. It felt true to my life back then. Now it feels so flat I can't be bothered to finish watching the final season.

This sounds like an interesting idea that could not only establish a candidate's bona fides, it could also help build a personal political network for that candidate.

However, if it isn't outright campaign finance fraud already, it surely could become so, not to mention a tax fraud risk for donors.
Turning campaigns into mutual aid hubs isn’t good for campaigns or mutual aid! Your campaign manager should be entirely too busy to schlep around 5600 tampons!

Jargon update:

If the stupid nonsense on your screen was churned out by AI, it's 'slop'.

If it's a load of crap a person dashed out on their own, it's 'swill'.

If they tried their best, and it's still bad, then it's art.

Found the actual men in women's bathrooms assaulting women.
ICE agents illegally break into a woman's bathroom in a NY nutrition bar manufacturing plant. "Pull up your pants," says a male agent. The agents only had a warrant to review employer documents. They didn't have a warrant to search for, detain, or arrest anyone there.

Gen AI absolutely CAN go away.

The bubble will burst and nobody in their right mind will invest in it. Law suits will start eating into what little funds remain and the companies will continue making net losses.

No data centres? No gen AI.

You need money to feed those fires.

Per a chat with a friend about trumpists realizing they’re on the side of evil, I think a simple minimum ask of those folks is ‘never vote again’. Not as legal penalty, not as mark on the proverbial permanent record, but as a voluntary abstention.
