The International Olympic Committee is set to ban trans and intersex women from competition. This is despite the fact that for 20 years, the IOC has allowed trans athletes to compete and only 1 has ever competed and none have ever won a medal.

I will be donating to help buy out vendors in little village first thing tomorrow morning.
I waited a day to say this bc I respected everyone's right to vent some anger, but *remember to focus on what you can do*. Whether it's defending your community, taking action around what you've been venting about, whatever — but don't let all of your energy get captured in the social media space.

You cannot convince me that if these North City libraries were in South City- say Buder and Carpenter- that they would not be reopened by now.

Today I finally saw the Arthur M. Anderson, the ship most famous for having been the last one to ever hear from the Edmund Fitzgerald on its final night. That last message was absolutely haunting: “We are holding our own.”
The Anderson went out in the storm to search for survivors but found no one.

Agree.
Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."
This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

This year hot peppers (my fav to grow) were successful.
My attempts at peas and pumpkins failed. My currant bush is six inches tall. Sunflowers worked out but squirrels stole them so we didn’t get seeds.
Growing food is just hard

son brought home a pinto bean plant from school last spring. it yielded one (1) bean, which we planted. *that* plant yielded ... one (1) bean, which we have also planted. Five months of cultivation has yielded two beans. anyway, you were saying something about "grow your own food"

My dad died and I got a life insurance payment of $100,000. I tried to buy health insurance. I had enough money to pay for a whole year or more up front. But no one would insure me because of my bipolar.
For anyone too young to remember what it was like before ACA…
IT WAS A FUCKING NIGHTMARE.
IT WAS A FUCKING NIGHTMARE.
One of the most important provisions of the ACA was eliminating pre-existing conditions exclusions from insurance plans.
Folks need to be reminded that if the ACA goes away, so does that provision.
