Quite the statement.

“South Africans like Dr. Booley have found a remedy for power cuts that have plagued people in the developing world for years. Thanks to swiftly falling prices of Chinese made solar panels and batteries, they now draw their power from the sun.”

Library, then local store, then online if I need it now. I rarely need it now. Library almost always has it but needs to get it to a local branch. Can’t remember the last time I bought online.
When I buy books online it's always through B&N on IndieBound. Never Amazon. (Often less convenient or more expensive. But not that much, in either realm.)

No replacement for AMZ's total reach. Eg video. But still.

Much ❤️ for libraries. (Full disclosure: married to a librarian)
Destroy this myth. Please share if you have visited and researched in a library this past year! RT And give a shout out to your favorite library you have ever visited.

Periodic reminder:

What you see on social media is an algorithm-curated echo chamber. Those who shout loudest typically get amplified the most, regardless of whether they’re right.

The real work takes place offline. If you’re getting stressed out by today, take a break, focus on what you can do.

Scraper accounts seem to be on the rise, so here's a list if you want to block them all.

Feel free to report suspicious accounts to me, but do NOT tag/quote them. If they're alerted to my presence and block me in advance, I can't do anything (at least with bsky interface).
