Once you start thinking of AI as a war on humanity, on human thought, on human inquiry, on human labor, on nuance and critical thinking, it slots in pretty seamlessly with the right wing ideological project, oligarchical political projects, big tech's political projects, etc

Why the anger with Billie Eilish? Because it’s against the rules to say what we all know about billionaires | Zoe Williams
The singer is giving away millions – but the parameters for criticising the super-rich are very narrow, and hardly anyone qualifies, says Guardian columnist Zoe Williams

Killing people we disagree with is wrong in every way, whether it’s Melissa Hortman or Charlie Kirk. This is especially true in a country awash with guns and run by fascists looking to amplify their already militarized policies.

No thoughts and prayers. Down with fascism and up with gun control.

@froomkin.bsky.social has the right idea here: A volunteer army tracking exactly what Trump is breaking, so we can fix it later. Lots of work is already happening, but a combined, organized, ongoing effort is crucial. It's a manifestation of faith in recovery, and a tool to help us get it done.

AR-02 has the third most cuts of any congressional district in the country. French Hill's silence about this is spineless even for a perpetual jellyfish like him.
🚨 How are DOGE cuts impacting your community? Under Musk's leadership, DOGE has implemented sweeping reductions in grants, contracts, and leases. Here’s a new tool I built that identifies grant and lease terminations by congressional district.

I don't think people realize that in important respects tariffs are now higher & more inflationary than what was announced on last Wednesday.

Since then we've gone from 54% to 125% on China, our 3rd largest trading partner. That outweighs delaying the increases on 70+ others.

A deafening amount of noise needs to be made about this. DEAFENING.
This is big: House Republicans tucked language into the budget res “rule” that bans the House from voting to terminate Trump’s emergency declaration used to impose tariffs. TL;DR lawmakers who vote for this are officially giving up their power to revoke his tariffs until October.

Trump and Musk cut $1 billion in funds that schools + food banks use to buy food from local producers.

These cuts hurt Arkansas farmers, our kids, and the poorest among us.

Why isn't Sarah using her close personal relationship with the president to protect Arkansas farmers, children, and families?

As a small, rural farmer, I know firsthand how tough it is to keep a farm going in Arkansas. We’re already up against corporate agriculture, rising costs, and government policies that favor the big players over folks just trying to make an honest living. This helped some farms stay open.

This ACCESS (education) bill from Sarah Sanders is way worse than expected.

Republican legislators are fighting against it because, among other things, it will further decimate rural schools.

It’s a radical restructuring.

I’m thinking Democrats would get more votes with a platform of "tax the hell out of the super-rich and give everyone health care" than they got with a platform of "We’re your favorite old sweater from 1995.”
The status quo doesn’t sell.
Ripping your opponents isn't enough.
Do some radical good.
