This is so deeply true, I can't even say.
As a long-time technologist, the number of times people have said to me "well, we'll just automate that" and I have to respond "OK...what exactly would you like to automate?" And they can't even begin to explain their processes.

Murderbot's pronouns are so it/its that the Japanese translator had to create an entirely new first-person pronoun for it: 弊機 (one among many amazing and interesting translation choices that I swear I'm going to write about one of these days).
I keep seeing people say that Murderbot refers to itself as "she/her" in the books (you know, the ones I wrote). Could someone comment with a quote (from the books I wrote) or point me (the writer) to where that is? Maybe I can clear up the confusion. In the books. Which I wrote.

never. My spouse told me to turn north the other day and I laughed out loud at them. We've been together for over 20 years and not once have I had more than a 25% chance at knowing which way is north.
