One of my favorite LLM use cases is literally just asking it what the closest preexisting concept to a thought is.
"I have this idea, has anyone had this idea before and what's it called?"
It used to be REALLY DIFFICULT to reliably answer questions like that and I feel like we'll forget it was.

sex workers who make their money on the internet often hang out being cool people on the internet to generate traffic on a sfw account.
if you have zero sex workers as mutuals it means you're using the platform you're on like linkedin and checking their resumes in advance

one comment on the Talarico Instagram non scandal: sex workers are allowed to have lives and interests outside of work, too, including politics.
feel like bsky is preaching to the choir in that regard, but

a massive amount of people who currently claim that they're all about luddism and burning everyone with technical expertise alive for the sin of creating something new were talking "luxury space communism" just a few years ago. utter intellectual depravity
What's ironic is that, and for a long period of time, the Left, generally, were profoundly idealistic about the implementation of new technology within the society and the economy. Chernobyl and the popularity of Anarcho-Primitivism in the 1990s began the first deviation away from such optimism.

If you cannot mentally distinguish between, say, 1) Some guy running a local image model on his PC for funsies, and 2) Elon Musk building a datacenter in the most batshit-irresponsible way possible, then you have put yourself in a position where you DO NOT ENCOURAGE responsible or ethical behavior.

I've been online long enough to know that a lot of people just like to be gigantic assholes the moment there's no social pressure to do otherwise, even to people who are doing nothing wrong at all. It's rare to see someone admit it like this. Usually they maintain the facade a bit longer.

The one trap set here is by the person pretending these are the concerns they have with AI, when they neither care if anyone is trying to solve them, nor is that even the actual issue for them, as they'd admittedly be a judgmental shit about it even with zero ethical reason.

And here we have it. The real issue with some of these people isn't intellectual property, or energy consumption, or anything else that might matter. At the end of the day, grade-school cruelty is enough.

because people are allowing "data center" to become a rhetorical standin that they imagine represents everything they hate about modern life, and by doing so they are choosing to blame the technology that connects us all together instead of the monsters who choose to fill our data-links with evil
How do you "hate" data centers? How does the phrase "data center" not just drain you of all emotion?
The data center backlash has 2009 early days Tea Party vibes.
Except with much more potential broad-based support since, as @heatmap.news own polling has shown, its seems like just about *everyone* hates data centers.
Definitely going to see more politicians try to catch this wave.

Sadly due to perverse incentives the future is endless Twitter posts by a dude with a name like "TechHeaven" and "Rich Rogerman - A16Z investor" posting actual garbage and saying "OMG SITCOMS and VIDEO GAMES are cooked 🤯🤯🤯"
I feel like most other AI filmmakers are not up there. They lean too much into the limitations like they're always worth cheering or they help achieve the former goal.

This turned out to not really be true, btw. Using AI-generated data for training is now a very common practice.

The practical problem is that the kind of person who wants to spend their time curating a list of bad people usually also has a rich collection of Eccentric Beefs.
In theory we can fix this with better tools to rate/discover which ones actually do what they say on the tin

you can convincingly portray this whole financialized AI edifice as a mortgage crisis-style house of cards without even mentioning that the fundamental product is unreliable, based on outright theft, and people don’t like it.
