I want to understand how the word "potentially" got in there, because right in the very same sentence it says they killed people. Because what it feels like is that on a purely factual basis they should have just said "violent campaign" but got squeamish about telling the truth

Here's a fun one: If you took every game this year where Ryan Reaves had a positive Game Score, added them all together, and deleted the bad games, it would not be a Top-20 individual game for a Maple Leafs skater this season. He dressed in nearly half of the games

The Supreme Court handed Trump immunity when he asked for it, and undermined Judicial oversight when he asked for it. They absolutely would not have done it for Biden for the very clear reason that their interests are Trump's interests.
I want to reiterate that countless conservative judges issued universal injunctions against the Biden administration, and the Supreme Court never halted the practice. Now, barely five months into Trump's second term, the court puts an end to these injunctions. A brazen double standard.

SCOTUS: Whoa there, that is, uh, a major question. Which means you can't do it.

*Trump revokes part of the constitution*
SCOTUS: Obviously, we got to give the President the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Mainers like nothing better than to absolutely savage Susan Collins in every possible way in state polling and then breezily reelect her to another six year term
How about that?

#mepolitics
Quite the UNH poll of Maine:

Governor Janet Mills' favorability is 51/41
Senator Susan Collins' is ... 14/57.

Among independents, Collins' favorability is a startling 8/60.

Every Mamdani proposal is met with a chorus of "How are you going to pay for it?" Meanwhile...
34,000 already employed by NYPD. Before overtime, $11 billion in taxpayer funds. Largest police force in world.

Cuomo calling for 5000 more. Base starting salary alone: $300 million more.

Could instead fund violence interruption & summer youth employment in every NYC neighborhood for 5 years.

FIFA now treating the US as akin to Qatar and Russia: hosts whose local politics must be catered too even if it means abandoning prior stated goals. One difference is that much of the institutional racism and saber rattling by the US is directed at the other two co-hosts: Mexico and Canada.

We’re announcing new legislation — the No Secret Police Act (SB 627) — to ban local/state/federal law enforcement, w/ some exceptions, from covering their faces when interacting w/ the public & require them to wear identifying info.

The secret police behavior we’re seeing destroys trust & must end🧵

The Times saying last year they'd no longer endorse candidates in local elections, then immediately being like "oh but not THAT guy" 10 months later because the candidate wants free buses gives away the whole game. "Objectivity" means you break your own rules to punch left as much as you want.
NYT Editorial board effectively endorses Andrew Cuomo today in the most weaselly possible way. “Don’t rank Mamdani, and it will probably be either him or Cuomo, sooo…”

Democratic senators need to stop pretending that GOP senators are their “good friends across the aisle” and realize many of them are just lying sociopaths who are actively fanning the flames of violence against them.
It’s not just Mike Lee — Bernie Moreno is pretending that a registered Republican evangelical anti-abortion Trump voter who assassinated a Democrat and had more on his hit list is a representative of “the extreme left”

I’ve never seem anything like this attached to a quote from an academic. But it is in keeping with the right’s contention that nobody has any legitimacy to speak out—or rule—against Trump if they’ve ever supported Democrats. WaPo is beyond broken.

The fundamental unifying belief of all modern American conservatives is that liberals are not really their fellow citizens.
Trump, talking at Fort Bragg right now about Los Angeles, is doing something I'm not sure I've ever seen a president do: he's actively maligning people in Los Angeles — an American city — in front of U.S. troops.

And the troops are applauding.

As an Army brat myself, this strikes me as very new.
TRUMP: Los Angeles would be burning today, just like their houses were burning months ago. Generations of Army heroes did not shed their blood on distant shores only to watch our country be destroyed by invasion ... as commander in chief, I will not let that happen

FORT BRAGG TROOPS: *Hurrrraa!*
