And yet we still don't have air quality standards in our hospitals to protect patients & staff from preventable airborne infectious diseases.
#Flu #Covid #LongCovid
Almost 5 years since I started asking about air quality in relation to covid. Fewer people now tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about.
When a team of doctors, scientists and engineers at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the University of Cambridge placed an air filtration machine in COVID-19 wards, they found that it removed almost all traces of airborne SARS-CoV-2.

Asian countries handled COVID better as they acted on lessons from previous outbreaks such as SARS, doing hard work on policies such as normalizing mask wearing.

Western countries are recklessly doing the opposite & making us more vulnerable to future pandemics by
stigmatizing & banning masks.

As a GP I genuinely believe there is a coordinated & ongoing effort being made to ensure doctors are not exposed to much of the research on COVID induced illness. I have rarely seen COVID mentioned by any single system specialist as a contributor following outpatient visits.

As Labour tries to please both private and public interests, its policies for the NHS are in danger of costing a lot and achieving little

Many of those admitted for influenza will then get Covid-19 in hospital through nosocomial infection. Co-infection with both flu and Covid leads to increased morbidity and mortality, and increased duration of hospital stay. Yet little to no airborne infection control.

Why don’t public health ask us to mask up so that it reduces the pressure on the NHS? Why won’t they tell people that it would reduce their risk of catching anything airborne?
