maybe we shouldn't assume people really wanna take advantage in general, and we should just make stuff more accessible for everyone. there's so much unidentified disability across the spectrum of need and too many folks get shamed out of accessing what is there.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

Had the misfortune of catching about five minutes of Cocaine Bear at the gym this morning, had to look it up to figure out wtf it was, and I am still, two hours later, irrationally angry that this movie exists.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

I feel like this is an important aspect to emphasize, loudly, to everyone who endorsed Cuomo. they chose to side with a known sexual predator for personal gain and frankly that should be disqualifying for public office. you knew who he was and decided the women he hurt were acceptable losses
it's been a really bad long shitty time for people who care about victims of rape and sexual abuse, and those who've suffered it. drubbing someone who perpetrated it gleefully and believed he was entitled to power despite it is part of this.

don't think I've ever been so jealous of another litigator as I am toward whoever got to cross-examine the sandwiched officer.
The defense team presses Lairmore on whether the sandwich really 'exploded.' They return to the photo of the sandwich and wrapper on the ground.

"That sandwich hasn't exploded at all, has it?" defense asks.

"It looks like a little bit is coming out towards the bottom," Lairmore replies.

I don’t understand why more Mars settlement concepts don’t place the main infrastructure in the planet’s cave systems. Free shielding from radiation, reduced heat loss and evaporation. Put solar panels on the surface but put any fragile life under the ground.
I've come to think the frequent use of glass domes in Mars settlement concepts is indicative of the deep lack of seriousness about basic economics. Like, we don't build glass some greenhouses on Earth, except as a novelty. They only make sense if you decide cost doesn't matter.

"kamala harris will protect your right to disagree with her" is something i haven't really heard from another surrogate and i find it genuinely compelling?
NEW: Harrison Ford endorses Kamala Harris.

This is impactful, in part because it comes from someone without a long track record of endorsing candidates.

Remember that you CANNOT register to vote online in Texas. You have to fill out a form online and then print it and mail it in order to get an application which will then be mailed to you and which you then have to mail back. Go to your local election office to apply right there to save time.
The ghouls who run our state maintain an antiquated, time-consuming, and anti-democratic voter registration system, and will happily purge you from the voter rolls. Make sure you're still registered.
